Ever noticed that NC lags when you want to open a certain page?
Well its because of some people's really really image heavy and big sized sigs.
D;
So, a new rule shall be implied on this site. I know there's a rule for signatures under the rules, but it needs to be refined, since we have really cool graphics artists on the site wanting to showcase off their awesome sigs. ;D
Signatures requirement (This is just a skeleton of how it should be, since I'm lenient, I'll make a few exceptions):
- Maximum of 4 lines of text.
- Maximum of 2 banners/images that can be on the same line as long as they fit the size requirements
(you cannot substitute an image for a line, vice versa)
This means you can have a maximum of 6 lines. (4 text + 2 images)
* Each line must be short enough that it doesn't wrap. The maximum number of characters per line varies depending on the font size you use. The limits are listed below and remember that spaces count~!
size=1 : 140
size=2 : 125
size=3 : 110
Mixed : 125
* Maximum width for each banner/image = 400 pixels
* Maximum height for each banner/image = 175 pixels
* Maximum file size for each banner/image = 150KB
There's a loose rule for those people with awesome graphics to showcase out there.
You can have a big sized graphic but only ONE is allowed.
Maximum width : 530 pixels
Maximum height : 230 pixels
Maximum file size : 200 KB
(You can right-click an image and hit "properties" to figure out width, height, and size. Don't hunt the mods down if you violate the rules & we delete your sig and/or get warnings.)
Since this enforced rule is new, you are given a grace period of ONE WEEK to fix up your sigs, follow the requirements.
After one week, warn PMs will be issued out to those offenders. If the offender doesn't fix their sig, we will warn them + delete their sig.
So, fix your sig as soon as possible so that NC loads faster.
** Edit:
As long as your sig doesn't go over the automatic post size like Archie said, which is more or less like the skeleton provided above.
But...... if you got alot of stuff you wanna have in your sigs, put them in spoiler tags, but remember the automatic post size rule.
That means, spoiler tags in spoiler tags. =D
Don't worry, the mods won't bite 
. Or at least I know I won't

Idk it kinda depends on how much text like I dont think my sig has to much text but it does have 9 lines ...

personaly i think anything over a automatic post size is too much in your sig writting (list of nc fammily/ fanclubs etc) could reasonably be hidden in spoiler tag's, as a bit of extra text isn't goint to take to long to load and some browser's dont even request the info till you open the spoiler.
as for massive artworks id say just plain no, there annoying and have a place you can keep them anyway (my gallery) or graphic show off topics.
but thats just me. (oh nd by auto post size i mean the space left when you post like a line or 2 that keeps short to mid length post uniform)

Hey Ui will we be able to put the sigs/text we have to get rid of into spoiler tags? Or does it mean gone no matter what? Most importantly the FC's we are apart of?
Also how do you put two images on one line?

just put in the [img] tags, and separate them by one space.
And I should edit the post, like Archie said, as long as it doesnt go over the automatic post size (thats a really good idea), its fine.
If you really wanna keep those extra imgs, put it in spoiler tags.
Soo....... put spoiler tags in spoiler tags, people! (Much neater, dontchu think?)

That's what I tried doing but they still came out on two different lines. I guess my sigs are too big.
So is my signature fine then?

But clean up your FC spoiler tag, there's one PB image that's already removed.

Well if you're viewing a page with member's posts with alarming huge sigs, I think you'd be irritated as well when the page loads.
It takes hella lot of time, trust me.

@ roofus/ that my freind all depends on how many tab's you have open 30+ like me when im modding and it can get somewhat annoying
@ dandermouse/ see first post it say's one week (that was on the 27th btw which means this is now effective- i'll be trolling the site tommorow for none compliant sigs)

right since i have a whole bunch of tab's open waitting for their sig's to be edited im firmming up the rules in one post (this one) all sig's will be subject to these rules although some might not be modified strait away (these will be borderline ones as im going by look.)
the members who's signitures are changed will be pm'd with any excluded material (so you don't lose it incase you dont have a copy) and remaining signitures will be modified accordingly, finnaly these rule's will be subject to change should another nc mod or admin have a problem with them (i will be postting these in the kage's place and pm'ing vio for the okay)
you are permited 2 Image signitures with
the maximum combined size of 800 pixels across and the maximum combinde hight of 300 pixels,
this forms the box in which all of your signiture must be contained.
if you want text in there then make the images smaller or use spoiler tag's (must all be within 800 by 300 box)
spoiler tag sig
all spoiler tags must be within permited size when closed (hidden). Fan club sig's can go in spoiler tag's lable'd as such, forum family's must go in their own spoiler tag, 1 link described below and you are allowed an additional 3 images (combined size 430 by 800) or 1 youtube (auto size i think). all of these tags can be in one header spoiler tag or seperate but be warrned seperate tag's will eat into that 300 pixels pretty fast as i don't think you can get spoiler tags on the same line.
things not to go in signitures
so thats what your allowed whats not allowed i hear you ask well:
old signitures, put them in you gallery or personal statement
+1 youtube video's, one in your spoiler tag's is all your getting any funny show's or awsome amv's go make a thread about it more people will comment that way.

link's, it's really timt this was cracked down on i know you've been allowed them in the past but it's pretty much against most of the rules for new members and against the general idea for older ones so for members with less than 100 post's (loyal membership) there will be no link's in signitures.
for +100 post's members your allowed up to 6 link's to one site (like 6 those little clicky egg things),to clarify you will be allowed only one site if that site is something like the hatch a dragon thingy and you have many pet's you want to add your allowed up to 6 of them. these must all be contained in spoiler's tags of their own you could also post your own fan fiction link's in there or sponcership/donation prompts for this site or its affiliate (the sites that we are assosiated with -see main website)
other people's fanfiction should be posted in a topic link's to your own site should go in your profile other type's of link's i haven't thought of should probably also go elsewhere.
okay so thats that any objections can be posted here and any alterations shal be posted here befor being moved to the site's main rules, all of this is subject to change and exception at teh moment but these will be from vio, ui, myself or the collective staff of nc (moderators and the like) basically this is becasue once the rules are finnalised all exceptions shall be the decision of vio ui and myself as enforces of the new rules may be leinient or miss stuff apart from that we should have no more right to parden members than other nc mod's etc so if your looking for an exception pm vio at your own risk and get him to notify us and we'll leave you alone.
as for fellow mod's etc feel free to go to the kage's palace and voice your oppinion on the sig rules and we'll come up with a finnal set with everyone's oppinion and approval from vio.

ok well that makes sense but how can i measure how much room the spoiler is taking cos we are only alowd 300 pixels up include spoiler tag

pop the pic's into paint or something clip to size and properties will tell you all you need to know alternitively snap a screen shot of you sig in a post and make sure it fits into the 800(x) by 430 (y) boundary. paint dissplays the coordinates of you mouse in the bottum right.

I got Archie the 2nd's message that he changed my sig's format, but you can practically do whatever you want with it, i don't get to go online here much anymore anyways. *shrug* The old group's gone, i guess, seems we all got b*tchslapped by school. xD

XDI kind of like the new rule ^^ It really does get annoying when people have super long sigs but also I've realized that some people still have muck sig areas...

Wait, does the new rule count for the lines in quotes or is everything in a quote considered like one whole graphic sig?
