Using most picture editors, you can make GIFs (animations).
But, Ulead, is the other option.

i hear gimp is a good and *free* (which means you won't be stealing it)
it's supposed to be as good as photoshop.

yeah adobe image ready can do animated gifs but ps can't (image ready and photoshop usually come in a bundle). also we're not supposed to tell you how to steal it so i can't tell you but its pretty obvious how.

like i said, most picture editors don't do animated gifs so you need one compatible with them like image ready. i don't know of any other ones though but they're out there

I recommend Adobe photoshop! It's just the "best" no doubt about that.

You need to make sure you have an animated sig as a '.gif' picture. You may have them as a '.bmp', or '.jpeg'
You want '.gif'
Sorry if you already knew this. That's what used to happen to me, all the time, so yeah....

hmm? an animator that is easy to use if you can't get image ready and photoshop to work I recomend Ulead GIF Animator 5.
Not the best thing in the world...but hey it puts in animations easily and everything is simple to use... It's what I've been stuck with ever since my computer rejected photoshop and paintshop...

The industry standard is Adobe Photoshop.
Macromedia Fireworks is especially designed for web graphics.
You choose...

Photoshop if you have a lot of money to spend. If not, GIMP is not as good, but you can complain about its power seeing it is free.

Gimp is useless.
Why use anything else if you can use Photoshop?
And for animating use flash.
Or if you're animating from PSDs then use Image Ready, since you can animate individual layers.

If you get photoshop, it comes with imageready too, i think. And, using imageready, you can create animated (.gif) pictures
