I was wondering about looking into this anime and I was also wondering is this anime good or bad? or even if I should watch it? or what is it about? Can anyone tell me?

i only seen the first ep but from wht i seen its a relly good show ill tell you what its about when i remeber because i cant remeber right know lol:)

I saw it...but its not that good as Samurai Deeper Kyo (based on Samurai Warriors Game on Ps2)

I loved this anime even though i think it isn't to realistic. I mean come on! a 20 ft tall mechanized samurai being taken on by a 50 year old 5 ft 8'ish old man is just ridiculous.
Despit tah, this anime was amazing beyond words!!

it was based on a movie, now turned into a anime.

It's pretty good so far to me, it's actually the anime i'm currently watching

I liked it. It storyline was pretty cut dry. The animation was very good and the flow of the story was at a good pace as well.

it was based on the Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa

for those in the US it is a western called the Magnificent Seven

it was an okay anime but it could have been better

i was the same as you. i went to the store and was about to buy the dvd BUT my sis wanted madagascar. i was so mad >3 she said the art was ugly T_T

Samurai Seven was a mixed bag. The animation was good (ala Gonzo) and it had some decent fight scenes but the fact that samurai seem to be able to cut through giant mecha with ease is a little . . . well unrealistic . . .

Also the plot wasn't particularly interesting and well character development could have been better.

The anime pales in comparison to the original Kurosawa film which, even today, is quite a masterpiece . . . And the way they kill off the samurai seemed quite rushed to me, unlike in the movie, which loses the impact of their deaths as was conveyed in the movie

i havnt watched this yet...

I kind of liked the characters and the animations were nice, too.
But somehow watching the samurai fight meccha bots just looks
stupid to me and I hated the smaller robots of the bandits looking like
a can of coke with arms attached but without the colors.

At the end this stopped me around episode 18 or something to go on.
But see for yourself.
