Zaraki Kenpachi vs Ichimaru Gin

This is something that Vio and I have been arguing on for a while now so you guys know the drill. Who do you think will be the victor? In this thread every person who posts in this thread must state a logical explanation of why they think that there character will win. Make sure that all of your assumption can be backed up with some textual evidence from the show. Each post must be atleast 3 sentences long. NO SINGLE SENTENCE POSTS HERE! Even though this is like a poll thread, i decided not to put up the poll because of all the random people that come in just to push a selection without giving feedback or reasons for that selection.

In my opinion, i believe that Kenpachi would be the victor in a battle between the two. In Bleach, it was said that he was strong enough to defeat his past captain without even learning to use his Zanpaku-to's ability. Even though Kenpachi uses a regular sword in his battle, he has shown many times that he does not need to have his Zanpaku-to abilites to win against opponents. In Episode 51-53, Kenpachi took 2 captains on, not only with their Shikai ability but both BanKai abilities, therefore showing that he doesnt need his Zanpaku-to abilities to win against strong opponents. I think that if Kenpachi were to learn his Zanpaku-to abilities, his power would increase at least 10 fold.

Well that's true IF he learned to use his zanpaktou properly. I think Kenpachi would still win because he isvery stong, but who knows Gin might have a really cool bankai. Although his shikai abaility is kind of poo

yea i kno, wth is up with his shikai? All it does is stretch, Renji's can stretch for that matter. By the time Gin does his shikai, Kenpachi can can dodge it and counter attack. Kenpachi will knock that grin right off of Gin's face. Or Kenpachi might actually take the hit and do the same thing that he did with Tousen.

I personally think Kenpachi would wipe my a** with Ichimaru. Kenpachi has taken on 2 captains, and came out victorious. Even though Tousen is weak i highly doubt Ichimaru could beat Tousen's Bankai. Plus Kenpachi loves to fight meaning he would take as many hits that come at him from Ichimaru, and act like nothing ever happened

kenpachi cause he loves to fight. i think the battle with the 2 captains, kenpachi won. the captains were in hiher divisions so, he can beat ichimaru. plus i hate ichimaru.

Dude... Kenpachi would PWN.

I quite like Gin-kun, but his shikai was so useless.

And Kenpachi is so seme Gin would keel over and die.

We can't really judge this properly until we actually know what Ichimaru's Bankai is . . . however, the fact that Kenpachi easily defeated Tousen's bankai and the fact that he has such an enormous reiatsu, I would say he would win. Also Ichimaru's seems to lack a fighting spirit while Kenpachi, well obviously lives for the battle . . .

It's true that if Kenpachi could reach bankai he would pretty much an unstoppable beast but it seems unlikely that he could achieve bankai anytime soon . . .

I think Ichimaru will win because he never took any of the battles seriously so far. I wanna see his bankai!

Of course Ichimaru Gin would win. if you read manga and see Ichimaru isnt just a shinigami. Tousen isnt weak he just loose on that fight on episode 52-53 on purpose of aizen, and the bear face captain they didnt really fought each other all he did was call his bankai and leave cuz he prob notice something wrong with tousen. all aizen subordinate are far beyond stronger than any captain. you will see later on.. when tousen and ichimaru reveal their true form. kenpachi also known as the strongest of shinigami [means his "physical"] kenpachi doesnt even know any spell/dark arts.

Not sure, Gin has a bankai so...
still, zaraki kenpachi's spirit force is almost endless

I think zaraki would win, if he took out the bells and the eye patch. Cause he's really strong and i think he already has a shikai. Cause ichigo broke his sword, and somehow his sword regenerated. It would only do that if he knew his sword right?
But even if he doesn't have a shikai he would still be pretty strong. He beat the ex-9th captain, the ex 12th captain and i think he beat the fox captain too. I don't think Gin is stronger than the other captains. He seems normal.

Gin would surely land hits with his Shikai and Bankai to Zaraki (Zraki LIKES very much to be slashed by his opponents). Zaraki would then return the favor. (and thats just from NOT using his Zanpakuto).

Zaraki - removing his eyepatch & bells or once learned even a Shikai - will have Gin for lunch.

I think Gin will most probably win...

Zaraki will wipe the floor with him once he takes off his eyepatch, he doesnt even have a bankai, what a monster

if only zaraki learnt sa shikai and bankai, he wouldve beat da crap out of gin.....but we dont know wat gin has in store for us, so ill go 4 kenpachi..............

yah you guys are freakin crazy. Gin wouldnt last ten minutes. As we've said, zaraki has already proven himself against two captains simultaneously, while gin has fought hitsugaya once and couldnt even beat a kid without tryin to kill the . So yeah. Gin would be wiped off the wall the next day.

Zaraki will kick his butt. Gin might be good but Zaraki's better/

Just saw this thread while doing a google search for something (amazingly not Zaraki Kenpachi as my post might seem to indicate lol) so I thought i'd give it a post ;P

I am a avid Kenpachi fan, I love the guy, just more interesting than most of the others (secondary characters) (so far)
To be fair, we don't know much about Gin, we haven't seen what he's capable of really, but he didn't seem to break a swear while facing Hitsugaya and seemed to be well under control (though that isn't saying anything in my opinion as I beleive Hitsugaya is upstaged a little)
As we know he's a captain and has gotten there somewhat recently (hard to say but I get that feeling from the flashbacks of Rukia/Abarai and co.), and he isn't notably a captain, unlike Hitsugaya and Kenpachi per se.
But obviously he consorts with Aizen, a man who seems to have been honing his skills and it would (make sense) seem that his associates would be of the same calibur.

Yet we have seen a lot of Kenpachi and thus have lots of information/examples to derive from.
1. We have his emense raiatsu that Ichigo (who we know to have been able to acheive Bankai within a week) would only muster up enough power to beat Kenpachi in the heat of the moment (what Ichigo would be best at, being the main character lol) from Zangetsu.
We have 2 captains, that were easily held at bay and one defeated. I don't know what silly person said Tousen wasn't trying lol, he has his reasons for fighting, and he wanted to defeat Kenpachi because he's the embodiment of what he hates most, the desire to fight.
Unfortunately (at least for me) we didn't get to see him face Komamura beyond having a face of pure delight on him.
Note that he didn't even take his eyepatch off for Tousen nor for the few swings he threw against Komamura.

Kenpachi's power is played down because he was beaten by Ichigo, it is generally apparent in Shounen anime that once someone is beaten "they are defeated and are now inferior", with a few minor exceptions, but they usually don't match up to the "hero" from then on.

We must note also that this isn't a very shallow of the shounen anime, the concept and story were introduced to shounen weekly when Yu Yu Hakusho was, but was rejected (due to Yu Yu being similar and already in the works). My poiint is, that Tite Kubo has had a lot of time to work on the background story and characters for this manga/anime and I wouldn't be declaring it too cliche just yet.

To finalise the (my) argument on the fight of Kenpachi vs Gin, i'd have to say that it would depend on Gin's bankai and overall power.
It would be highly reliant on what the bankai was, if it was a physical attacking bankai, it would have to be capable of completely and utterly overpowering Kenpachi and/or thwarting his counterattack capabilities (which we are all too familiar with)

PS. If Kenpachi did acheive Shikai or Bankai (it is suggested that Kenpachi acheived Shikai after fighting Ichigo and passing out after asking his zanpakutou's name, but of course is unconfirmed and is only 'mildly' hinted at in the devision ending clips at one point- blue raiatsu blade, if you look back through the 11th devision one) we would all be in big trouble.

Wait didnt the game Bleach Hit The Soul 2 showed Zaraki's Bankai??(A Black dragon thingy???)
Plus Zaraki and endless reiatsu

It all depends who show their true strength first........If Zaraki achieve Shinkai and Bankai....He could just dumped Gin body at a ditch.......
If Gin shows a very awesome Bankai then........Im not sure.......

For the time being i'll say Zaraki-taichou!!!!!

the winner? simple...thats KEPACHI! he will takes everylast hit and shrug it off like it was nothing and like everyone else said...ichimaru's shikai sucks a**. and seing as most bankai's have a similarity to shikai's ex. zabimaru and Senbonzakura's bankais are extended forms of their chikai form. so i doubt ichi's bankai will help...though this is only an assumption..

well zaraki said the name kenpachi was given to the stongest shinigami in every generation so i wouldnt expect less

Maybe it's because I’m bias but I believe that Ichimaru has a good, no almost 99.9% chance of winning.
My Reasoning:
1. Tousen, I think, is only part of Aizen's group because he was someone who could easily be manipulated with his "strong sense of justice".
(So kenpachi beat him. Big deal, he still took a lot of hits(any sane person would have excepted defeat))
2. Ichimaru’s shi-kai is not useless. In fact it’s quite fast as well. (kenpachi would not be able to dodge so easily, nor to I think he would try)
3. Aizen took out komamura without the slightest effort. Needless to say he is a very powerful man. He is on a quest for greatness and even more power.
Now, Aizen mentioned that he never considered anyone but Gin to be his lieutenant. Why would Aizen want some weakling to be his Lieutenant?
4. Now let's assume that what I said in #3 is a 100% true. Ichigo beat Kenpachi but could not beat Aizen. If Gin is of the same caliber as Aizen, then wouldn't
it be logical to say Kenpachi wouldn't be able to defeat Gin?
5. Kenpachi is the type of man who will fight until he dies....So I guess Gin will have to keep fighting him until he is dead.
I believe hat Ichimaru's bankai(which I have seen )would be able to do the job.
6. When Ichimaru and Kenpachi first showed up i was surprised to see that skinny little white man(gin) dragging Kenpachi around while screaming
"LET ME GO!! LET ME AT 'EM". Kenapchi was actually struggling to get away.
7. I believe Gin still has some tricks up his sleeve. Not to mention we've only seen Gin fight once. Durring that fight he went up against another captains
bankai. I won't say he won that figtht but in his defense I will say that he only retreated because Rangiku interfered.

This was a challenge considering my two fave characters are Gin and Kenpachi.

He gave himself that name. Thats like a little white boy going around saying "yo wut up mi homie Im like the #1 gansta."

Kenpachi will have to eventualy bleed to death.
Besides, would kenpachi survive million's of blade shooting from the sky all around, and directly on him?

Ichimaru Gin would destroy him. Do not under estimate Gin...he's very powerful and has yet to show his true strength.

Ha yeah seeing things now from back then......GIn would totally Kick Kenpachi's Butt. Unfortunatly T_T

IDK if he could win this one though...

If Kempachi does achieve Bankai or even shikai....well, we might as well forget about ANYONE that even contemplates the thought of fighting a kempachi's level bankai....
there is a reason he does not have it right?? at least not yet....
