FLCL is about a 5th grade boy who, one day, is walking home from school when a strange girl runs him over with her scooter. He proceeds to grow large lumps from his head, which turn out to be robots. Strange.........
The first few episodes are the kind of thing where, you think you know whats going to happen but then something so weird happens you look like this.

i still dont really understand this anime..

i don't understand it, i don't like it, i think it's weird

so what exactly is the whole summary or point of this anime, all i've seen is the 1st epi and that was like this girl hurting him and him poping a bºner on his forehead

I watched several episodes of it, and I did not like it. There was occasionally references to an idea of a plot, but the amount of outright insanity hid it. This would not get a high ranking by my standards.

i liked it i understood most of it that dumb ***** was just using the kid to get Atlast thats the main point to the story

Here is my summary then. Maybe you will understand it a tad more.

Furi Kuri/FLCL

The story starts out with Noata (Takkun). He is a 12 year-old schoolboy living in a strange city called Mabase. In the middle of Mabase there is a gigantic Medical Mecha complex that is the shape of a steam iron. Noata's brother left to go and play baseball in America. While walking home with Mamimi, his brother's girlfriend, he is ran over by a strange girl riding a Vespa motorscooter, her name is Haruko. Ontop of being ran over, Haruko hits him on the head with her electric guitar. She claims to be an alien. After claiming that she is an alien, Noata starts to grow a horn in the spot that Haruko had hit him.

All the characters progress through the story. When Noata is attacked the horn suddenly appears again and turns into an eight-foot robot who fights off enemies. The robot is put to work in a bakery which is owned by Noata's father and Grandmother. Mamimi worships the horn as if it is an angel from heaven. The storyline has many turns and twist through it. No one knows if Haruko is a real alien, if Mamimi has gone crazy, or what kind of relationship is starting to develop between Noata and Haruko. The most bizarre question that everyone wants to know is why is there a big steam iron in the middle of the city? Each episode only adds more and more questions to the list.

It is one of my favorite animes I'd say. The style of humor is weird in a way and can be very confusing at times, but yet enjoyable to some. You might need to watch the anime(6 episodes) to get a full understanding of what's going on, but you might still be a little lost. After the encounter with Haruko, Naota grows numerous things such as horns, cat ears, etc. The storyline just gets stranger as the series progresses, but I still reccommend checking it out. Any of those who enjoyed this series, should check out Excel Saga or Dead Leaves.

I remember Fooly Cooly was supposed to imply a number of things, but here's the best definition I could find at UrbanDictionary.

Fooly Cooly - To fondle a woman. Is usually specific to breasts or the butt, but can refer to any part of the body.

I dont think it was ever supposed to have a great storyline. I think I was realli an exercise between the audience and the director. When u look at this anime for its style, It definatly is one of the best looking animes out there

It's a really good anime.

The entire reason i loved it was because it made little to no sense most of the time.
Plus Haruko is smexy.

But all in all, it's in my top 5 list.
If you get confused easily....stay away from this one.
You'll get a nosebleed trying to understand :3

Ah FLCL.... one of my of my favorite anime. I can totally understand everything in the anime, BUT the manga is just too confusing....

FLCL The first time I watched it I had no clue what was gonig on ... But now its kinda grown on me I like it... it's alot of fun

FLCL is a weird anime to say the least. I LOVE the animation: the fight scenes, the manga-stylish scenes, all of it!

well... the strangeness just adds to the coolness of this anime... you need to watch it a couple fo times to really understand it... really bizzare... breaks all the conventional rules... and therefore, its great...

10/10 no doubt about it. I had to watch it 3 or 4 times before I understood it but it is the funniest anime I've ever seen.

I think that its absolutely hilarious and I don't think it is supposed to make sense. You kinda have to understand a little bit of japanese humor to make this make sense. The animation is gorgeous though.
