well with gamer's help you won't have to shell out mulah for it. and i used to play MS, but it just wasn't as fun for me as it was for the other guys. I didn't find it very entertaining.

MS = Maple Story

I've not tried it before, but I've been to their website, and basically it looks like a simplified version of RO to me, or a cheap imitation, if that's how you prefer to call it . It has lower system requirements and a smaller file size. But it's biggest drawback is that there's no PvP (Player Versus Player), unlike RO, so you can't duel with other players, and the only way you'll be able to gauge where you stand among the players is by your level and wealth.

And yes horus, the RO official servers cost money, has too many bots. On the other hand, private servers are free, and has significantly less bots, if any at all. Although most servers have a small community, it's better than official servers that seem to be populated with mostly bots.

There are lots of private servers out there for you to choose from, low, middle, and high rates, you name it. All you need to do is Google "Ragnarok Onlike Private Servers", and the top link should lead you to a list of the top 200 RO private servers.

Or you can also check out this site, http://ratemyserver.net, to look for a private server that suits you. Currently, I'm playing on EuphRO (www.euphro.com), a low-rate server, and gamer's in CakeRO. Don't know about blah_girl though XD

As a beginner, I'd suggest that you start off with a not-so PvP-oriented server, and get a grasp on the basics first.

I hope you know what a shinigami is, otherwise it'd be really weird to want to join an FC of something you don't even know about @_@

You'll have to wait for the RPG system to be back up to recieve an invitation though.


For a beginner, you don't really need to care what job to start off with, it's mostly a matter of preference, so just choose what you like, or you can even make multiple characters of different jobs and try all of them! For me, what job to start off with depends greatly on the type of server you play in. In a low rate server, I'd usually pick something with good mobbing abilities (the ability to kill many monsters at once), like a Grand Cross Crusader. In a high rate server where instant-cast is easily achievable, I'd go for a wizard as a first character.
And I don't think we have enough players in this clan to have a clan event in RO, and not all of us play in the same server. o.o

hmm.. RO is fun Never played MS before, but my brothers were addicted to it for awhile, but they've now moved on to WOW now. I thought about starting MS, but after awhile it didn't look like too much fun and i never got into WOW, so i guess i'll br sticking with RO for awhile.

See we're all in different servers ._.

I really wonder how long I can last in this low rate server I'm playing now, because this is the ONLY low rate private server I've ever played (sure I've been in an official server for more than a year but that's not a private server). Before this, I've played in many high rates and my life was pretty much PvP, WoE, PvP, completing my set of equips, PvP, getting rich (if money even means anything in that server), and more PvP. XD So yeah, I'm a PvP fanatic, and that's why I can never be happy in Maple Story. >_<

IMO low rates emphasises more on teamwork (party levelling, MVPing, and even PvP) whereas high rates are more of a single player game, besides WoE that is. It's because in high rates, you're usually strong enough to not need any help from other players when killing monsters. But meh, who cares about monsters if there's PvP

lolz... I like the highrates cuz its easier to play in der and I believe in one man game, not too much in teamwork but still I wud luv to help ppl around me tho... but newbies actually beat the heck out of me... by lvlin up sooooooooo fast... but so well... I barely get to play it newayz... lolz.

do you guys have @where in your server?..cakeRo used to had it until Marsh turned it off cuz ppl kept invading other ppl pravite place. thats when i reemember or thought up a game called "hide and seek" to play on Ro. its when the hiding person warps to other places then msg us whats the hint. after all we cant use @where anymore XP.


i also thought it might be fun to play hide and seek in the forums ^ ^. by having a person gives out hints or riddle to find a post that they made. then we all have to go and search for it...it came to my head..like few days go in the morning. so i havent thought much of it. but its just a general idea of the next event if anyone seem interest in it ^ ^

And about the forum version of it, it's just like the Hollow Hunting event we had last year when Sanzo was still here!!

Don't know if any of you still remembers it, we make up teams and start off with only one clue, then we find the post with the Hollow in it and answer the questions in the post, and we're lead to yet another post, and so on, right till the last post. sapphiresky did most of the work for the team I was in last time though XD
