Personality: Gaara is a very calm and collected type of character. He is very cold and despises pretty much all life. He kills people for enjoyment, but also so that it can make him feel ‘alive’. Gaara cares little for others and does not usually concern himself with the feelings or problems of others. At least this is who he used to be. After an intense battle with Uzameki Naruto, Gaara is slowly beginning to change. Though it is a slow process he is beginning to see that not all people are evil, and may some day think about giving the human race another chance.

Love Interest: Currently none, Gaara is still working on liking people in general.

Misc. Info: Gaara was born with the raccoon type demon Shukaku. Like the Kyuubi that lives inside of Naruto, Shukaku lives inside Gaara, giving him the unique ability to control sand. With it he can do anything, and is nearly invincible. As a child Gaara was rejected by the villagers and hated by his peers. Because of this Gaara grew angry and hateful towards the world, and people in general. At a young age, Gaara’s father the Kazekage (means wind shadow. The kazekage is just like Konoha’s Hokage, but for Sabaku) discovered that because of the demon inside Gaara, his mind was unstable and unpredictable. Gaara was attacked by many assassins sent by his father, but Gaara killed each and every one. Gaara quickly learned that no one truly cared about him, and that he was only a trump card for Sabaku. However under strange circumstances, Gaara gained a bit of an odd friendship with one, Uzamki Naruto, changing Gaara’s life in a way he probably never thought possible.

Gaara deserves some sort of award... he is the best character on any show ever!

I think the Chukaku is why Gaara is warped.

I mean, there is no real way a child can think like that without some kind of influence. And having it's voice confused with his "mother" must **** him up quite a bit.

I've met kids who've had their mothers taken away from them, and they all say they would do ANYTHING to bring them back. I'm guessing this extends to Gaara. If he hears the chukaku telling him it needs blood, he believes it's his mother, so he will please her.

If he had been raised without that demon, who knows how he would have come out.

Now, onto the point of this post~

Everyone says "ooh, Gaara is cold and ruthless and evil.... Yeah, he also has a vengeful raccoon spirit living in him.... But he's HAWT AND EVIL LOLZ".... Which irritates me, as they don't look into WHY he is this way.

Now, a little math.

Born as an experiment from the Hidden Village of Sand, Gaara was combined with the spirit of a demonic sand priest known as Shukaku, not unlike Naruto and the Nine Tails. Gaara grew up without knowing love. For a long time he tought being spoiled equals love, but when he met Rock Lee that opinion changed.


Unfortunately, Gaara became unstable around the age of six years. Consequently, his father, Kazakage, ordered numerous assassination attempts upon him, all failing miserably. This betrayal caused Gaara to become hateful and deeply suspicious of everyone, including his siblings, who he regarded as "lumps of meat linked together by hatred and murderous intent."




The tattoo on Gaara's forehead means love, which combined with his name means, "I Love Death." Since he only feels alive when he kills, he believes that killing is his reason for being.

Background: When Gaara was born, he took the life of his mother as a sacrifice. Gaara was an experiment attempt by the hidden village of Sand to 'build' stronger ninjas.

The Deal with him: Before the Chuunin exams, Gaara has never been hurt as the sand always protected him. He has never slept in years either as the Sand demon would take over his body and eat away part of his mind everytime he lose consciousness. Thus, Gaara has become quite mentally unstable. He has never felt love as his villagers feared and loathed him. His father, the Kazakage, sent ninjas to assasinate him since he was 6 years old as his powers was getting out of hand. The 1st of the assasins was Gaara's uncle whom he thought was the only person who loved him.

Ever since the incident, Gaara 'tattooed' the kanji 'love' on his forehead and swore to love only himself and sought to feel his existence by killing others. He was sent along with Temari and Kankurou on an A-rank mission. Seemingly to take part in the Chuunin exams in Konoha, Gaara transforming into the Shukaku was actually the Sand's trump card in their plan with the Sound to destroy Konoha. However, he was defeated by Naruto and escaped back to the Sand with Temari and Kankurou.

Gaara is Really cool...I can kinda of relate to him in a few ways thats why him and Kimimaro are my favorite characters....because I can relate to them...atleast Gaara fround friends...Kimimaro only had himself...and a false ideal about Orochimaru and after he died Orochimaru didn't even care

He had 2 new jutsu in Naruto 2 which is Suna Raishin (Thunder God Of Sand) Ryuu Sabakuryuu ( Flowing Desert Dragon) and his Sabaku Taiso is very different and stronger then before........which makes a giant hole ..... and after that He will be the Kazekage of the Sand Village and he will die protecting their village from Akatsuki clan.....


For your information the tatoo means DEmon Kill only for your self that he made with the sand.to correct ur jutsu its Sabaku SouSou ( desert coffin) and Sabaku Taiso ( desert funeral) not desert graveyard........and he started killing everyone cuz his uncle tried to kill him and said No one around here loves you which broke his heart and started to hate everyoen and after he made the Tatoo (Demon kill only for yourself).Naruto and him are the same and tehre are 9 types of demons and 1 of each they have 1-9 tails Gaara has the 1 tail and Naruto has the 9 tails which is strongest among all.......
