I was wonderin in bleach on how do people die in the soul society. Aren't the people there are already spirits? How can they die if they're already dead?

I have wondered the same thing!! I don't read the manga, maybe they say something...but still How do you die if you are already dead? It didn't make sense to me either...still doesn't.

thats a good one..maybe the spirits are like millions and millions of small molecules stuck to each other and when spirits are killed by those soul slayer, those molecules are separated and no longer attached together. Hence vanished! *poof* = spirits die. ok i don't knw what i'm babling about..i think i should sleep... imaginations is running wild now..

i read the manga and it doesnt say anything about it there... i doubt they would be reborn... if they were reborn what would be the point of fighting

They become non exetant . I guess it makes since to me since they are all ready dead.

Yeah and also, did the spirits of the soul society used to be human?
I mean were any of the spirits in the soul society used to be living in the human world? Or were spirits born naturally in the soul society?

since they are spirits once they kill or destroy the spirit they just stop existing or"die" but i could be wrong

I think some have. Like for example the boy that possesed the parrot. He was once living and now lives in the soul society. I think that others might have been born in the soul society. I mean they make comments about Kuchiki Byakuya that makes it seem he was born in the soul society, at least thats the impression that I get. Stuff about him coming from a noble soul society family. Then again maybe he was adopted like Rukia.

As for how you can die. I think you can die just like you would in the human world (except starvation). You see some people die in fights with Zaraki Kenpachi, and as they say, some shinigami can die from wounds inflicted by Hollows. As for where they go when they die. I have no clue. Maybe they are gone, maybe another soul society level, maybe they get reborn. Perhaps they will explain that later.

Here's my impression:
Kuchiki Byakuya was dead but he went to the upper-class districts, probably the most prestigious, and lived with the aristocracy. Hence his being and living in the upper class makes him an aristocrat.

Also, when humans die, they live as souls in soul society, where they await their reincarnation. However, destruction of the soul means the inexistence of it. It just doesn't exist any more. Thus you lose the chance to be reincarnated and live out your life as a human. Or a spirit for that matter. I don't think there are any more levels to soul society, I think they just don't exist. Did I answer your question?

once you die you move onto Greater Soul Society. and if you die there you enter Greatest Soul Society. After you die there you move on to Soul Society Grande. Then you uhh;..thats completely my guess.

maybe soul society is like limbo.. like purgatory or something..

I'm sure there is only one soul society. That's just like heaven. The other one is hell, or jigoku. So when you die in soul society you just don't exist. There will be an explanation later on when Rukia is going to be executed. Be patient, and you will see the light!

I don't think Soul Society is 'Heaven' at all, Rukia said that the Souls are also sent from Soul Society to our world, meaing they're coming back somehow, therefore, I reckon, that once you ide in Soul Society, you are reborn in our world and it becomes are circle, which is why the Quincys were wrong to just outright destroy hollows.

i think once u die in soul society your spirt become molecules part of soul society.

The once thing that is agree upon is that there is no real evidence to say what realli happens when someone dies within the soul society

Know what happens to a Hollow when it gets killed by something other than a shinigami? (a Quincy, for example)

Its soul and body gets destroyed, and it will no longer exist, be it real world or soul society.

And I think the same thing happens to a person who dies in soul society, they simply disappear.

a lot of people say that they are reincarnated again on earth. I don't get it. I also don't get how a soul can bleed???

For the death thing.. I think that if a soul dies, then it doesn't exist anymore.

'Cause if you die as a human, you're a soul... but if you die as a soul.. then, there really isn't anything left now, is there? :/

Some souls were humans but others were born as souls in Soul Society.

Being able to enter soul society probably means u get another chance to 'live' bt u dun eat or whatsoever (except the shinigamis). bt mayb once u 'die' in soul society, u will jus become non-existant ,like some others hav mentioned.

If you die in soul society, i think you disappear forever. They are all souls. So it like taking away their souls if killed in soul society. But if you die on earth your soul can be killed cuz only ur phisical body died. not your soul.

Well the people in soul society already died once so if they die again then...... I have no idea where they go. Maybe they are reborn into the real world?

I think they just probably become the spiritual energy that makes up soul society. ya, I was also wondering how they can age if they're already dead. remember when they showed the episode of how Rukia and Renji used to be young, and then grew older, and when Ichigo first met Rukia she said she was a lot older than him? it's kinda confusing...

I faintly remember reading somewhere, I can't remember where for the life of me.
But people in soul society live a fairly long time, but once they do die (which they can, of age, if I remember rightly), their soul gets reincarnated into the human world in someone.

For anyone reading the manga. (HEAVY POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

its one of those dualism things...when a spirit, wether plus or hollow, meets a shinigami in the living world they go to soul society, and vice versa.... but when quincies kill hollows their spirits are destroyed, this caused an inbalance inspirits so shinigami's began killing off the quincy, so the Ishida's family doesnt like shinigami....they mention it when they introduce ishida

Interesting. When Sousuke Aizen "ascended", and allied himself with the Menos Grande, did not one of the other captains say he was going into "True Heaven"? That caught my eye because I thought Soul Society was heaven, but I guess there is something else beyond it.

i think ur soul gets vaporised after u die and ur like invisible but ur still in soul society and u cant die again nor can u kill another

I think when u die in soul society u disaper.....some say that u reborn but i really think that u disaper..
Rebember...SS is not heaven....like Aizen(5th squad capitan) explain...u need to ascent to be in the Heaven..
I think that the "Heaven" that he was talking is the God's place.....currently there is nobody in there like Aizen said because nobody ascent.....to ascent u need to be a soul reaper ( the most powerfull in SS) and turn in the most powerfull in hollows world....

bact to the question.....the quincy kill hollows too....but the hollow that are killed by the quincy disaper...that happens because the quincy do not preform (i dont rebember the name) one of the duties of the soul reaper and give the hollows the final jugment!!!! the Hollows are the same thing that the soul in SS....only have the oportunity to live normally again in SS......so when a soul is kill in soul society they disaper like the hollows kill by the quincy!!
