My friend and i were recently discussing naruto related topics and it led me to ask a question i have been wondering for a while now
why is sakura in team 7?
i i mean rlly think about it for a minute
team 7, they all have somthing special

Kakashi-he was the 4ths pupil and has sharingan, which is said to be capeable to control kyuubi
Naruto-he's the 4ths son and has kyuubi in him
Sasuke-lone survivor, other than tobi, of the uchiha clan, also has sharingan
Sakura-well she has great chakra control and is pretty smart but...

well as u can see they all have somthing great and pretty important to fall back on as to why they are together
not to mention that this is the only team kakashi has trained
so why sakura, why is she on there.

if you think about other teams like kiba's team, they are the perfect tracking team with byakugan, scent, and bugs
and ino's team, they rlly great at capturing an enemy with the mind transfer, shadow posesion, and the expansion jutsus

now at first kakashi's team makes sence but sakura's place not so much, is there some background story we dont know about yet? cuz there has to be a reason she is important enough to be put with them

with kishimoto's style of the naruto series, everything falls into place and fits together and has a purpose, but not sakura
why is she there?

She has excellent chakra control, like you said. Super strength, a medic nin......

I don't if it's just me, but I think she's veru useful. Ninja-wise at least. *preparing for fanboy and fangirl attacks* >.>

Well i know she's usefull she's one of my favorite characters, she is awesome, a bit hormonal, but still great
but why that team in particular.

Because Kishi just slapped her on that team? =/

I believe sakuras purpose is much like Tsunades was when Jiraiyah, Orochimaru, and herself were a team. It was to balance the scale and have some sort of connection between the three. One thing that naruto and sasuke have a connection with is Sakura. Because of her, naruto promised and is still trying to keep his promise to bring Sasuke back, which I believe gives naruto strength in doing so. Know what I mean?


I am not a fan of sakura in fact, my favorite Kunoichi is Kurenai and I like Hinata. Anyhow, I for one don't think Sakura is weak or anything like that. She is very formidable and should be reckoned with. She showed me how strong she really is in the fight facing Sasori. Theirs only one person in the Narutoverse I hate, that is Orochimaru. I don't like sasuke either but I don't hate him nor do I think he is weak but he does share a weakness with sakura, that being their emotions.

Those two are meant for each other. Both of them are the pinnacle of the term "EMO". They both only think of themselves when a certain crisis takes place. But anyhow, Personally, I think her purpose might be what I said. But like Nonye said, we have to wait and see.

yeah she's great, i mean she might get a little emotional at times, but love can rlly mess up a teenage girl at times many of us should know through experience.
but if her place in there is to tie the two together i think thats kinda lame if thats it
but thats also not the only reason naruto continues to "rescue" sasuke, he's trying to save a great friend of his
i have a feeling that somthing big might happen with her, i was just a few hours ago looking through some interviews
of kishi, and he said that somthing big is gonna happen with sasuke, kakashi, and sakura
and that naruto is going to have to wait sooooo

sasukes has already happend with taka and "killing" itachi
some kinda big thing happened with kakashi, when he spoke with his dad, that was sentimental and all but perhaps somthing bigger will come along
and then that leaves sakura, but im rlly wondering what is it, from a special clan cuz she finds out she was adopted?
or like my friend and i like to joke about that when she was a baby she was abused and thrown against walls (lol)

but that also means that that sage mode and fight with pain wasnt naruto's big thing, and that was pretty big
wich also leads me to think what is going to happen with naruto too?

She's a supporting character in every way. She will never be in the upper mastodons of the Naruverse when it comes to strength. She was put there to support Naruto and Sasuke, sorry to break it to you Sakura fans =/

She was put there as a love interest to spark the rivalry between Sasuke and Naruto (support), she is a big part of the reason why Naruto cares so much about Sasuke (support), she is a medical ninja (support) etc etc. A huge number of anime's have people like Sakura in them; Misa in Death Note, Orihime in Bleach, Kai in Blood+, Lucy in Fairy Tail the list goes on and on. Just be thankful she is still pretty badass when it comes to strength, she's no Kage or High Jounin level ninja but she is still stronger than most of the people in the rookie 9. I don't doubt that when she is in her prime she might become as strong as Tsunade, but Sasuke and Naruto will always be light years ahead of her and thinking she might become a serious player strength wise is pretty foolish =/

In Shippuden she was able to save Kankuro's life. She has great Taijutsu, Medical Nin, and Genjutsu training. She's an amazing Kunoichi!

im just hoping that they reveal a bit more of her past other than her unconditional love for sasuke

Well, they sort of did. They talked about her forehead and her Ino's relationship. lol. But Kishimoto stated himself that Sakura doesn't have a tragic or crazy past. She is just a normal girl and therefore, does not have a major story.

she might be part of a clan.she always have that symbol on the clothes she wears.

her having a big forehead doesnt give away that she would have been a good medic nin.
or that she had great chakra control

I'm a sakura fan, but I have to agree with zeriah in this one. This is the type of character that you can find in any anime. BUT, I also share your curiosity narutard4life. Since the first episode of Naruto, I always questioned her shirt's symbol and the fact that in her room you can see a robe with flames painted on it, that's hung there, as if it was something special. I hope there's still something important about her that hasn't been told yet!

i thought it was

sasuke was best ninja
naruto was the worst
sakura had best chakra control

both were suppose to compensate for naruto as a failure

sasuke is ninjutsu expert
naruto is taijutsu buffoon
sakura was suppose to be a genjutsu type

I think if Sakura would have been a support character, i would like her a teeny bit, but other than that her only purpose in this manga is to be a pairing fodder. After that Sasori fight, all the arcs she suddenly doesn't use her abilities and fails hard. She is still the same in Part 1 and her attitude towards people is just ridiculous and manipulates Naruto to do her doings.

She doesn't train and doesn't take a job as a ninja seriously. She never learns her mistakes ever and thinks she's a genius. Naruto could take care of himself without her and Sauke is just Sasuke lmao. If she would of died, nothing will impact part 2. Naruto will still search for Sasuke because that's his first bond he ever had and so on. Sakura is just there for romance and nothing special and no she will not be the next Tsundae; Tsundae is 1000x better than her haha.
