Ok this just occured to me... Naruto and Sasuke are the only ninjas in their age group who are still genin. Sasuke left the village therefore gained the title of rouge-nin. Naruto on the other hand came back after his training.

My thoughts are that Kishi either wants Naruto to become a Hokage from just being a genin, or their needs to be another Chunin Exams. If you read the manga then you'll know that their cannot be any chunin exams anytime soon. When Naruto was in the exams before, he said he doesnt care if he stays a genin, he"lll still be Hokage. Maybe Kishi wants to make that idea a reality. OR make another chunin exam because that was one of the highlights of the Naruto series!\

What are your thoughts?

There's no point in another Chuunin Exam because they all know he would just clean up anyway.

Kishi wont waste time on another pointless Chuunin exam at this point. Maybe he will get an auto pass straight from Tsunade or maybe he will pass it while the story is focused on something else.

I don't think he will go from Genin to Kage either, there's probably a rule that prevents that haha.

Agreed that Kishi won't waste time with another exam, that would be a huge step backwards. My guess is that Naruto will obtain jounin rank eventually, skipping chuunin altogether.

agreed... and everyone knows he's very skilled and is pretty much a jounin powerwise.. so the genin title is just a title but everyone knows he's not really one... i just have a feeling either he's going to be hokage afterwards or maybe the series will end before that... anything can happen.

He'll probably get a promotion during the predicted time-skip but I'd love it if he could become Hokage straight from gennin.

maybe kishi wants this idea: genin to kage is a feat that only naruto can do in the history of nin.(and in the Narutouniverse)

Most likely he will just be like promoted just from missions and not need to take any actual exams.

my opinion is that Naruto will probably be the only one who will be selected as a Hokage without being at least of chuunin level simply to show him as the special one passing the Yondaime,who till now has been hyped as the greatest ninja that the village has produced.
Naruto probably deserves to get sumthing like tat i guess
