http://pc.ign.com/dor/articles/965172/cry-...trl_032309.html"Crytek, the developer of Far Cry and Crysis, announced earlier this month that its in-development multiplatform game engine CryENGINE 3 would be shown off for the first time at Game Developers Conference 2009. Now it's GDC week and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at Crytek's CryENGINE 3 trailer.
According to Crytek, the trailer features both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage.
The video is meant as a tech demo only, so the fact that it features nanosuit-clad soldiers from Crysis running around doesn't necessarily mean anything concrete. It could just be that Crytek recycled some of its existing assets. No titles have been officially announced that will be built on CryENGINE 3 as of yet."
Wow that's some insane graphics down there on the X360/PS3. Wonder which game will use it

Wow, that's pretty damned amazing. By far the best graphics I've seen on both systems, and destroyable environment!?!
The part that looks like Crysis looks practically as good as it does on the PC on very high settings, but with better lighting and a much better physics engine.

Hell yeah man. Basically this engine picks up Gears of War 2 and Killzone 2, and dumps both those games FIRMLY in the realm of average. Very impressive.
Best lighting, best detail, best best best best everything.
Did you see the smoke effects from the explosion of the RPG. And the bridge collapsing near the end. Just as we were praising Gears 2/MGS4 effects, Cry Engine 3 just ripped them apart.
Absolutely amazing. Best bit is this is the 360 and PS3 engine.

My guess is that will be a Crysis spin-off or the like.

I wonder if they will port it to the PC. I bet it would be much more efficient then the engine used in Crysis Warhead.

True, and it the more way's playable the more the game'll sell out for. But maybe the'll do like they did with RE5 and make it just for the big consoles (Meaning 360 and PS3).

They should. Performance at higher settings would play much more smoothly. Actually nearly all video cards run into memory issues when playing at high-very high.

^ It's just a tech demo. At this time, I found hard to Crysis to be released on consoles.
Furthermore, just to piss off Jack:
http://pc.ign.com/articles/966/966403p2.html"The CE3 runs currently at more or less the same quality bar. I say more or less because the engine still optimizes itself to power of the platforms' intrinsics. So the PS3 will run slightly better"

Yup. Of course it's gonna play better on bigger platforms. I mean PS3 is more up-to-date than the 360. So of course texture, etc. will be better. But I doubt it will be better, a hole lot more. Because the 360 itself still has amazing graphics.

Unfair comparison. Buy a 2005 PC and we can talk.
