personally, I've never complained about anything being stolen from me, mainly because I've never been stolen from.
Obviously I'd never complain about stealing from others. I can understand if it was robbery, that's in my opinion really pretty bad, but just casual theft, isn't all that bad, it just means you need to be more responsible. I don't feel stealing is so bad unless it's just something you feel like having for the hell of it. If it was food, or a gift for a friend it wouldn't bother me much, that is if you couldn't already afford it.
and no, I'm not saying I'm a thief, though I'm also not saying I'm not.

I think it depends on the motive. If you steal because your in bad situation, and don't know another way out. Then that person may just need some help. But stealing for greed and envies thoughts, that is just low.

err lol kinda ironic topic considering fansub is technically 'stealing' but i think it depends its always going to effect someone or be moraly questionable but sometime's i just think 2 much of a fuss is made i mean rule of thumb if you say 'he/she just pinched such and such' (like a biskite) its not so bad mabye they should ask but honnestly who cares, if you say 'he/she stole my last such and such' (like poky or pop tart) they deserve to die!! (jk but yeah is wrong they are my poptarts mine!!!)

I guess I can't talk. You could say I "steal" music by downloading some of it off the net. I also "steal" tv shows and such by downloading them as well.
However I definitely wouldn't ever steal from a shop or from a person directly. I think doing that is very wrong, but who am I to talk? I probably owe record companies $500 or so dollars for not buying their albums...

im in the same situation as zeriah but i dont do it that often. i would say ive stole a few albums but not many like 3 and ive stolen a few games but not any vids and by stealing i mean downloading not directly ive probably stolen pencils if finding them on the ground counts at school but thats all and it is wrong

thanks for all your inputs appreciate the honesty around here

as I believe I've said before, and yes unfortunately for some(well not really) my opinion remains unchanged, obviously I've never stolen through greed, I wouldn't steal from those who appreciate what it is and don't take it for granted, and no I wouldn't steal out of envy, funny that you'd mention stealing anime downloads and what not though, amusingly enough, I pay for my anime downloads

Unfortunately what you are doing is still illegal. That website does not have permission from Viz, or the other anime companies to host those files. What you are paying for is just the use of their servers.

That wouldn't be considered theft
It woudl be considered 'honest mistake'
Its like taking unpaid groceries out of the store not knowing you had them
You wouldn thave been charged with theft, but been acquitted on the grounds of honest mistake :]
So ur not really a theif
But now that you KNOW its illegal and still go on, then its theft :]
WA SO COMPLICATED

which is precisely why I used present tense because I'm still downloading it anyway heh heh, not much I can do about it, can't really find a better site for it.

then again, how many on here don't do the same on here, and by that I mean download anime free and/or watch it free/illegally

stealing is wrong.... no matter what, if you think stealing is not all that bad, with that mentality you will gradually become what your saying. you will be a thief.
but this is not a perfect world, some thief can handle themselves more than others.

technically people who pay are every bit as guilty as those who dont as if you read the contracty bit of the payment your paying for the hoastting and bandwidth (meaning you get more quicker) but thats it the rest is the same) as for that honnest mistake stuff that come's into play when the subbing groupes get a cease actions order from the creators (ie when their licenced) befor that its still questionable if its really wrong.
im ashamed to say i break the rule here as i still have deathnote even after it was licenced and removed from most of the web ^.^'

lol.. ^^ my father told me a story once.. something about the laws in.... i forgot.. (sorry.. XP) He said that if a man were to steal bread or any type of food enough for only himself at that time then he would not be punished.. but if he were to steal more than he needed.. basically he'd be punished..
So.. i think that if a person steals whatever he neede not WANTED at thst time then it's fine..
Damn.. i had that freaking guy who stole my PS2.. T^T

some of us were given a good sense of moral judgement, and some of us were not.
watching your television shows on a website can be considered stealing, however, if you're paying for a t.v. broadcaster that hosts the show you've been watching, then it is not considered stealing. but, that's what i think. the current laws on streaming, downloading, etc. are being reevaluted. most (well known) broadcasters today let you watch their shows online, even if you're not a paying customer, you just need a computer.
wow, you people must be bored talking about stealing...
So does anyone know of a reliable site that contains 'great teacher onizuka'; a complete series, in english ?
~ By the way, was great teacher... aired on ShowTime, if so, then i didn't steal [LOL let's hope so]

Actually it depends on the situation..if you stealing like a ipod then its bad but if you had no money at all and you had to support a starving child that doesn't have food because your broke with no job or people to support you and your family then you steal some formula its not bad... thats how I feel.

it really only depends on what was stolen and who it was being stolen from....
