This "Guide" was taken straight from an outside source. We made minor adjustments, we think it explains everything you need to know about subtitles right off the bat.

PROBLEM: HELP ME! I CAN PLAY MY ANIME EPISODE BUT SUBTITLES ARE NOT SHOWING, WHY!?

SOLUTIONS: Use one of the two programs below, they are both 100% free, no spyware, no adware and never fail.

Using Media Player Classic
- VioAdmin Rates this program: 5/5
Media Player Classic is a very different program from Windows Media Player, for one, it will actually work when you try to view something with it. Media Player Classic is our preferred method to view soft subtitles, as you don't have to go through the trouble of manually turning them on, the program should do that for you. Media Player Classic can be obtained via free direct download as part of the Combined Community Codec Pack.

Using VLC Media Player - VioAdmin Rates this program: 4/5
If for some reason you haven't chosen to view the file with Media Player Classic, you can still view it with VLC Media Player. Please note that you will have to manually turn the subtitle on, or load the ASS subtitle file manually, and VLC is known to lag with soft subtitles, and will sometimes crash if you try to skip forward. If that doesn't have you worried, you can download VLC for free right here. You must turn on the subtitles manually, once you open the file in VLC, by going to "Video" > "Subtitles Track" > and selecting whichever track shows up, usually "Track 1". If the file you downloaded came with an ASS subtitle file, you can load it manually by going to "File" > "Open File" > Select the "Use a subtitles file" box, and finding the ASS subtitle file where you have saved it on your computer.
