4th no contest. I mean if itachi didn't want to fight jiraiya for knowing the outcome would probably be both their deaths, no way he could screw with the 4th.

The guy was even stronger than jiraiya, had mastery over the toads, even knew the death reapers seal and who knows what else. Itachi would be pwned. Eyeballs or no.

4th its a silly question but it'd be a dahm intresting fight would be very cool the 4th could probably have itachi on speed (mabye even without his flicer technique (i belive that has flaws if people spot it in time) and he'd counter most of itachi's attacks (can't see him getting past tsukimori but can see him surviving it) personaly i just wanna see amustra hit rasengan imagin the fireworks

he's a mysterious ninja and kishi could just make up all kinds of move for him to kill itachi.

I will say just one thing that should be self explanatory.

Itachi hated fighting even though he was good at it. He also had a long list of excuses to step
out of fights and claiming Jiraiya would pawn him was one of them.

If Itachi was in his prime (before over-using his Mangekyou), I feel he may have a chance.
I honestly think the whole reason Itachi said he'd probably die facing Jiraiya was because of his sickness and his Mangekyou. Let's face it, Itachi has the ultimate defense and offense as stated in his fight with Sasuke. He basically let Sasuke kill him.
Still.. 4th > Itachi I think.

It kinda does feel like some form of crime to not praise the 4th Kage constantly.

Like Shika ^^^ said, Itachi in his prime was/is kickass.

Personal opinion is depression/sickness killed his will to wanna fight and thus
he was never overly flashy like the 4th. (no pun intended)

That would be one insane battle either way. Considering they both have a thing
for sacrificing their lives to a higher cause.

of course the 4th would pwn because itachi left the village and didnt learn that many new techniques apart from the ones he made if he didnt have to leave the village he could have been able to become a lot stronger i think

and roofusmoose... just because Itachi left the village at an early age doesn't mean he couldn't raid and learn other villages jutsu... His leaving is irrelevant especially since he knew of Madaara who would've undoubtedly taught Itachi at some stage in his development... Akatsuki was bound to have resources.. that and the fact that Itachi could have easily taken a number of copied scrolls with him... his strongest techniques were fire jutsu, genjutsu and MS techniques (most powerful) most of which were kept within his clan... so he would've had access to most of them since he became chuunin at least... The Yondaime was most famous for his original jutsu (which were his strongest) so he didn't exactly learn them off scrolls...

sure we have.. we've seen his most famous... the Rasengan, Shiki Fuujin, Hakke no Fuuin Shiki, the Hiraishin... these were all created by the Yondaime...

It just feels like they is so much hype over his skills. Sure he was Hokage for a reason
but I can only imagine so much b4 I start to question why he almost has godlike status.

Alot of fans wouldn't mind a filler season or a couple of chapters dedicated to
4th in his prime.
Kinda like Kakashi Gaiden.

why does he have god-like status? The Sandaime was called the "professor" and God of Shinobi so he was obviously very powerful (far stornger than even Orochimaru in his prime) while the Yondaime supposedly surpassed both him and Jiraiya. The Yondaime is seen as almost god-like because he was almost invincible on the battlefield. Iwa-nin were told to flee if they even caught glimpse of this man.... He created one of the most potent sealing techniques ever made in the naruverse as well as an unrivalled space/time ninjutsu wih the exception of whatever technique Madaara uses to phase through attacks to teleport long distances... In short the Yondaime waspretty damn impressive and it'll be hard for Naruto to top him....

Very interesting how the 4th had zero compassion for his foes
while his son has made friends with almost every enemy met.

Will be interesting to see what Sannin status does to Naruto.
