But who would win in a One on One Fight to the death?

Personally I think Guy, he's the faster of the two...

Kakashi can do SO Much more than him,

ANd he can see thru Gai's speed with his sexy sharingan

Then he would use mangekyou and send his balls into the next dimention

Thus making Rock Lee leave Gai for a better man

actually gai has a counter measure against the sharingan rendering kakshi weak b-cuz he use's it 4 every thing!!!

Anyway, I really Think Gai could win, Kakashi's Sharingan isn't as strong as a Uchiha Clan members.

gai only has a counter to kakashi's illusion abilities given by the sharingan he cant stop him predicting his movements or reading them (tho i doubt its at the level we see from sasuke i think it'l still give him the edge and we've never really seen kakashi try in a contest of speed with gai

(dont think that he'd just take off the weights and open the gate and own either while the gates are advantages to finish with its risky and kakashi is rumored to be able to do it too and as for the weights gai's speed would go up but his reactions due to the increased speed would relitively go down with kaakshi's already good reading skills itd be a big dissadvantage)

itd be a awsomely close match up no doubt but id go with kakashi on pure rep and credentials he's been abnu captain and later on he's considered as a posibility for hokage.

kakashi would win. Gai is good but he is only limited to taijutsu (at least thats what he uses) and u can tell the result of taijutsu battles by looking at rock lee. it is not at all effective.

Let's also not forget that Kakashi actually got off his a** and trained during the time skip.. This is obvious due to his attainment of the MS as well as his ability to perform a larger number of powerful jutsu than he was able to before... no point in saying much more...

yes kakashi has the ms but with gai's speed it'll be really hard to use it on him and let's not forget that gai can open 5 or more chakra gates and let'snot forget lee's speed when he used it on garra it'll be really hard for kakashi to keep up so yea it will be a hard battle but i think gai will win.

*shrugs*.. Kakashi has a lot of large scale ninjutsu, not to mention that his speed is quite high, with the added benefit of having the sharingan to counter Gai's movements... Kakashi had the advantage even before the timeskip and he's even improved so I still say Kakashi...

but speed doesn't mean everything... why could Neji beat Lee, even though Lee as technically faster? it's the same thing... Why couldn't Gai easily defeat Kisame at 30% of his chakra even when using the gates? (I can't remember the name of the technique Kisame used, but Itachi used it also at the same time when they were extracting the Ichibi from Gaara)... It's the same thing... Kakashi is superior with his knowledge of Ninjutsu, Genjutsu and he is definately no slouch when it comes to Taijutsu... and then we have the sharingan which gives him another added advantage not to mention the MS... He also has the added benefit of having summons... Gai is a taijutsu specialist while Kakashi is an all-rounder... Kakashi would win...

Yeah we've done this topic pretty thoroughly before, and it got pretty intense, I think it went like 9 pages. I'm not sure if it's worth getting into again, since we went through it pretty deep, but here was my take on it the first time:



"This is a fun one. I think both sides have to agree there is no easy answer. The way he created the characters, Kishi implied that they are roughly on the same level. But I'll think it through logically (and I love both characters, so I'm not biased):

-Kakashi's Mangekyou simply would not work on Gai. Remember how long it took him to focus on Deidara, and how much time it took to actually send his arm into another dimension? Gai is way too fast to be caught in that.

-Kakashi's Sharingan would be of some use, but it wouldn't win him the fight. When Lee fought Sasuke, Sasuke's Sharingan allowed him to see Lee's moves but Lee was so fast it didn't matter. The Sharingan would help Kakashi see Gai's movement to some extent, but Gai clearly has a speed advantage.

-Everyone here seems to be assuming that only Gai can open the gates. They've already shown (during training) that Kakashi can open the 2nd gate. If you think it through, Kakashi is a genius who has proven to be excellent at everything except chakra capacity, and since we know he can open the 2nd gate, it's probably safe to assume Kakashi can open several more gates as well.

-Strategy-wise, Kakashi has the advantage. I'm not slamming Gai, so don't jump on me for that. But in every battle we've seen so far, it's become clear Kakashi is one of the smartest ninja in Konoha. Gai, while certainly intelligent and capable, didn't show any incredible strategy in his fight with Kisame.

My gut tells me Kakashi has the tinest edge over Gai. Maybe it's because we've seen more of Kakashi. But really, Kakashi has the advantage in every area except taijutsu. I can easily see Kakashi using his hundreds of ninjutsu to neutralize Gai's taijutsu advantage. It's extremely close and I can see an argument for either side, but money is on Kakashi."


I'll add one thing: I did think about Gai's speed, and I wondered how Kakashi would be able to beat him if he couldn't hit him. But then I realized Kakashi probably couldn't hit him using pure taijutsu, but he certainly could overpower him using ninjutsu.

If you want proof, look at Kisame vs Gai. Gai was faster, but Kisame trapped him fairly quickly with his superior ninjutsu.

Great ninjutsu almost always trumps great taijutsu. That's why the strongest shinobi (the Sannin, Hokages) are the strongest at ninjutsu. Gai might be faster than Orochimaru, but would anyone honestly say he could take him? Speed can be neutralized with ninjutsu.

kakashi could like summon his dogs and they would bite the hell out of gai that would be funny and van i think your underestimating the power of the sharingen it could easily track gai

and it would be funny if kakashi summoned like gamabunta and he would squash his a** lol

I have to disagree with you... Kakashi could copy most of Guy's speed and strength... He has Lightning Blade. the Sharingan Eye, and he summon's ninja dogs!!!

it would be a really awsome fight but i highly doubt either of them would use a move that would result in the death
of either of them. but some of u forget that kakshi is uber fast too, and he can copy gai's moves, and he has like a butt load of other moves he has coppied at the tips of his fingers, and he has great stradegy skills, and i mean come on his superior was none other than the great fouth

I'm not even counting speed or the sharingan... Kakashi was a genious since childhood... and he has all that jutsus that even we haven't seen completely. And he's just sexy , he could seduce Gai to surrender if he wanted to! hahahahah (but I must say I don't have anything against Gai! Love to see him in a fight!)

kakashi would definitely win!!! even if he lost, he did that on purpose just to comfort gai ;]
