Well since I haven't seen a post like this yet I thought I would make one. Yes I know this is not the ideal section but there is no literature section so yeah...
Do you enjoy reading? ( FYI I'm not including Manga here)
What is your favorite genre? i.e Fantasy, Sci Fi, Crime, War etc
What are your favorite all time book/series/Author?For me I LOVE reading. It really calms me down and makes me nice and sleepy before bed.
My Favorite Genre is Fantasy
My favorite books/series are:
The Wheel of time series by Robert Jordan. Really well written fantasy. I was so sad when he died because the series may never end the way it was supposed to now =*(
Anything by David Gemmell especially his Drenai series. Legend is such an epic book. He too has died recently and some series will never be completed.
Raymond E. Feist and his countless works. His first three books Magician, Silver Thorn and A Darkness at Sethathon were extremely exciting and well written. His other works aren't as great but they are still worth reading.
Lord of the Rings obviously
The Old Kingdom Series by Garth Nix the books are Sabrial, Lirael and Abhorsen. They are terrific. Undead being controlled by Necromancy? Dude its freaking epic.
I've read probably at least 100 other fantasy books but these are my favorites

The Sweep Series (one of the most dramatic/awesome series ever created)
All of (yes all of them, big fan) Stephen Kings books/short stories

I friend recommended Robert Jordan's books but now i now the guy dies.. kinda ruins it for me lol... no problem.. i need to read again though... my vocabulary and grammar were better when i was a kid lol

n ot all day we see something like that

Well I like to read Harry Potter, and I've read Eragon and The Hobbit too. Fantasy is too my favorite genre. I just haven't read LOTR because it seems to much arcaic to me.

I read A LOT! pretty much all I can put my hands on...
I don't have a favorite genre, and I am ashamed to confess I never finished LOTR, I did not enjoy the reading as much I as I thought I would...
The degree of detail is so high, and the universe so complex, that it is not easy to have a clear grasp of things...
ohh well...
BTW...The little prince (eventhough very short) was, is and will always be a masterpiece to me....
The first book I ever read was from stephen king, THE DEAD ZONE...so I'm kind of an unofficial King's fan. I used to read a lot of vampire books, and a TON of mythology...
Not a big fan of philosophy aside the occasional reading...
I'm a nerd when it comes to technology magazines, and comic books, and of course manga..(but that does not count as books I guess!!)

Pretty good list. It could very well apply to me too; kinda impressive how we've things in common.
Wheel of Times is long n' awesome, but kinda unknown considering the quaility of the books (sucks, it would have to be far more famus

) . So bad the writer died just before ending the last one.

Do you enjoy reading? ( FYI I'm not including Manga here)Yes, I do. Reading is a way to exercise the mind, the imagination; enables one to travel to multiverses and understands the human psyche. What is your favorite genre? i.e Fantasy, Sci Fi, Crime, War etcIt ranges from Fantasy, Crime, Romance, even biographies such as JK Rowling (coz I love books and she's one successful author) and humor/dark ala Neil Gaiman. What are your favorite all time book/series/Author?My all time favorite authors are Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman (non-Sandman books), Jane Austen and Katherine Mansfield. I enjoy reading.
My favorite genre is horror and some romance. (every book I read this year, at least one person died...it was freaky like I started to read a romance book and somehow it turned into a book where an evil vampire kill people)
I don't have a favorite author, or series, or book. I'm lucky if I can remember a title.

Lol that we do

He's pretty famous or popular here in Australia and in the US. Most of my friends have at least read some of his books. Apparently there is enough material left for his Son (I think) to finish one more book. Whether that was intended to be the last one is still unknown.

Eragon is a very good book. If anyone is basing the book on the movie DON'T! The movie barely sticks to the story line and is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I can't wait till the third book in the series comes out. It's pretty soon now I think
haxxiy
Jul 27 2008, 04:17 PM
Yeah the Eragon movie really sucks

but it was already expected to me: a film of such a book would be either a superproduction or a complete failure. And it's kinda impressive Christopher Paolini started writing the books at the age of 15.

They could have at least stuck to the story line. Eragon didn't even get his slashed back. Was retarded sh!t man. And yeah he is pretty talented to write a book like that by age 15.

I love reading all sorts of books. I like Shakespear's works, Macbeth is my fave. I'm more of a fantasy or realistic fiction guy. I love the Narnia series and Harry Potter. But My two favorite wirters have to be Rowling and Dr. Suess. My two favorite books of all time are Horton Hears a Who (The movie was awesome) and Killing Mr. Griffin by Lois Duncan. I'm saving up money so I can see if Stephanie Meyer's book series is any good. I like vampires, and with all the hub-bub Meyers' series is getting, it has to be good!

i'll read anything but i think harry potter sucked ever since book one but i decided to finish the series just to have something to do and eragon isn't that great but i find it better than harry potter but it still sucks and the twilight i think is a bunch of crap but books i love so far are 20,000 leagues under the sea, frankenstein, the hot zone, war and peace, and many other books like them also i love to read stuff from phylosophers. did you know many well known philosophers were gay? well they were such as galileo, many well known romans and others.
