It is an extended version of episode 1!!! Most scenes are from episode 1 and flashbacks. I have wasted my time on this episode...

Worse hour-long (even though its ~44 minutes without commercials) special ever. The series is becoming more like a women fan service anime or what ever it called.

The flashbacks were very annoying (especialy the ones with sai..very unnecessary). Much like the rest of you guys, I am very diasspointed with the speed of the show and how slowly they move in each episode. It began to really bug me from the time of the sasori-sakura fights and they still seem to be moving in that fashion..kind of like DBZ. I am not a manga reader so I may be missing few future details, but I really dont like how sasuke basically owned 4 of the best shinobies konoha has to offer and he didnt even break a sweat. I feel like naruto is so inferior to him now, although he trained with Jirayasama. I guess Orochimaru is a better teacher, but I have always thought naruto and sasuke were on a level playing field, with maybe sasuke being a little bit stronger, I guess its not like that anymore... any suggestions or comments, please feel free to let me know what u guys think. Hopefully they'll hear this fan-based feedback and move faster with the damn show and get us some nice action fight scenes.. or i might just give in to reading the manga (so close to giving in.. lol but iam trying to stay strong).

^lol I'm with you on that last part, I've been trying so hard to resist reading the manga for years, but now I'm getting dangerously close to caving.
I'm kind of surprised at how many ppl hated this one, I really liked it. I've been waiting for this confrontation ever since Ep 1. Yeah, there wasn't a lot of action, but I really liked just seeing Naruto and Sasuke face off. Maybe I've lowered my standards, since the new eps seem to be more and more disappointing, idk.
I was also surprised at how strong Sasuke's gotten. I mean, supressing the Kyuubi....wow. It makes me wonder if Itachi could do it. I don't think Oro is necessarily a better teacher than Jiraiya, but i get the impression he's taught Sasuke a lot of shortcuts to power (like the curse mark).
Probably the greatest part of the episode was when Sakura actually looked like she might do something useful, and charged Sasuke...and then, when Sasuke was busy pumping Chidori into Yamato's body, she decides to watch politely in the background. Classic Sakura.

Oh wow.... it was exactly as i predicted; used scenes from episode 1, many flashbacks and really slow action...
I expected a bit more off the hour long (44min) episode. It covered just over 2 chapters worth of material from the manga. As a manga reader I think I was expecting too much from the anime but it also seems that you pure anime watchers are feeling the slowness of the series as well.. I can tell you that at this current pace they easily have another 50+ episodes up their sleeves.
I suggest reading the manga because there are many battles to come which will be drawn out 15 eps minimum

shippuuden has been disappointing so far... Well not really... I guess I just had high expectation for Naruto's development... And It seems that Sasuke top level experience will be the motivation that naruto will use to advance his trainging....

MAN, I didn't want to go off about this episode but come on!! What was Sakura DOING!!
She did nothing, just standing there, I know she tried to attack once but still, after that she just stood there looking dazed. What kind of Ninja are you, if your going to be a medical ninja then go heal someone, don't just stand there. What a waste.
Sai at least attempted to battle Sasuke. Naruto is just too weak, Sasuke was right, should have spent more time training then chasing Sasuke around. If he was stronger he would have been able to take Sasuke on a bit. Jeez.
MAN...that Kakashi replacement guy, the substitute captain, how weak is he? Kakashi would no way have let Sasuke stab him in arm like that. Kakashi would have set up some tricks and stuff, pathetic in my mind.
I like the new Sasuke, lol, evil and all he still bad ass. Too bad Gaara wasn't around, at least he would have glady accepted a one on one match, and it would have been sweet.

^That's interesting, Gaara vs Sasuke. Sasuke's definitely at a higher level theoretically, but this isn't like DBZ where power rankings are clear-cut. Gaara's definitely improved, but last time they fought Sasuke had just learned the Chidori and that was enough to break through Gaara's sand. And unless Gaara can figure out a way to fight without making eye contact, I don't see how he could win. That would definitely be a great fight between two bad-asses, though.
The fight I really want to see is Sasuke vs Kakashi. Now that would be an epic battle. So much of what Sasuke's learned is from Kakashi, and no matter how strong Sasuke's gotten, Kakashi's still much smarter, and his Sharingan has advanced too.

Just wait, i've said this b4 this whole episodes is crap, but when they finally get to konoha, it will be fukin awesome, trust me on that. That chidori won't be as impresive as what naruto learns.
and yes naruto is is frikin weak as hell now, man...disappointing....

A HORRENDOUSLY DISAPPOINTING EPISODE!!
First, it's like they expect that anyone watching this episode hasn't ever seen a Naruto episode before, and must be informed of EVERYTHING that has happened leading up to this episode by using the flashbacks. This is oriented towards finding new fans, not telling the ongoing story to existing fans. I had seen over half of this episode before.
Second, what's with Sasuke being able to suppress Kuubi with a glance from (apparently) 10 yards away??!!! If it takes Hokage level abilities to take on a Bijuu or a skilled Junchuriiki, what's up with that? Orochimaru needed to hit Naruto with a hand seal to stop Kuubi (in the Forest of Death episode) and was unable to kill him even with the Sword of Kusanagi in their recent fight, and Jiraiya had to use a special paper seal he had developed for that purpose. Even Neji could only partially see Kuubi with his Byakugan, but Sasuke's new ability to shut down Kuubi with an effortless glance is unreasonable.
Third, I can understand Sasuke being better than team Kakashi because three years of single-minded training with (probably) the best of the Sannin has to count for something, but to not even break a sweat doing it? What happened to all of their skills? Naruto and Sakura trained with Sannin as well, but Sakura apparently forgot everything she learned and Naruto's improvement seems to be limited to better use of clones (his test with Sakura vs Kakashi), an improved Rasengan and some idea of how to resist basic Genjutsu, something Sakura and others could do three years ago. His ability to use some of Kuubi's power isn't really an improvement. Sakura in particular was disappointing by being so worthless less than two weeks after defeating Sasori.
For future fights, I disagree that Kakashi vs Sasuke would be good. Kakashi's use of the Sharingan is not only limited by the chakra drain it imposes on him, but that Sasuke could disable Kuubi that easily while Kakashi had to use the seal Jiraya gave him means even his new advanced Sharingan is still far inferior to Sasuke's.
The only good part of this episode was that Naruto didn't fight - amazing restraint. A good thing too since he only would have embarrassed himself. Being at full strength wouldn't have made a difference, and he currently is still so weak from fighting Orochimaru he can barely stand, but his comments to Sasuke about saving a friend were remarkably sage for him.
I want to see Sasuke take on Itachi or some other member of Akatsuki for a good fight.

Yeah I cant take this crap anymore. At least the fillers were some what interesting and HAD A PLOT THAT FRIKEN MOVED. This is ridiculous 20 freaking episodes of walking and flashbacks. The only good part about this was the fight between orochimaru and naruto. I mean if this is to hard for the animators to make a great naruto episode every week then just do what everyone else does make 20-30 episodes a season then stop. I mean i would rather watch 20 awesome action packed episodes of naruto and wait 8 or 9 months for more then 20 episodes of nothing but flashbacks and walking. If you think Im wrong you should think back to the old series. I mean the whole chunnin saga and konaha invasion was this long and it was awesome you just couldn't wait till next week to see what happens next. Now when I watch I hope to god that the friken plot moooooves. Naruto gots about 5 more episodes to get better but after that Im done Ill just watch the classics because this Is BS. Yea sorry I like to ramble

Kakashi would probably lose. Sasuke has so many things in his favor. The full body chidori (Kakashi is known for this technique and it only covers his hand), the hack/sharingan, and his freakin sword. And Sasuke is probably faster. Although Kakashi is probably smarter, I still think Sasuke would just overpower Kakashi to the limits. Kakashi isnt very strong, hes just incredibly smart. Sasuke is pretty smart too, and considering Sasuke knows a lot of Kakashi's moves, Sasuke has the upper hand.
As far as the Gaara vs Sasuke fight, Gaara would get owned. Deidara beat Gaara (well, Gaara sacrificed himself, but still), and the manga has something that does blah, and yea. Sasuke would beat Gaara (with Shukaku) hands down. Gaara's ultimate defense is useless against sharingan, and if Sasuke even thinks about his sharingan (Kyuubi supression to a point and he is 9 tails, Shukaku is only 1 tail), then Sasuke could probably render him useless too and then just beat weak-a** Gaara senseless.
The episode just showed how strong Sasuke has become, and how pathetic Naruto is, yet again. It got it's pont across at the usual slow pace. It didnt exceed or disappoint my expectations.
