Title says it, which one do you like better? Chidori, or Rasengan?

i see you voted Rasengan...

When i first read the topic i thought it was a which is stronger... and i was getting ready to answer that but hey it's which one is cooler.


I think chidori looks way cooler than Rasengan with all the electricity... and if you read the manga you can see the chidori in use by sasuke
It's a complete jutsu unlike the Rasengan.

If you put up the Fuuton Rasen Shuriken then i would have voted for that.

I like Rasengan. Ever since I first saw it used, I've been wanting to be able to use Rasengan.

I have a funny chidori/rasengan story.

A stupid freind of mine that I hate was walking with us one day when he yelled out "chidori" out of know where and punched my friend in the arm. I stopped my friend from putting him through three feet of brick and said I would handle it.

I said "Hey Marvin come here, you know there is a stronger jutsu then the chidori right"

Marvin: "there is"

Me: "yeah.....RASENGAN" And I punched him in the stomach and he dropped to the floor. "otherwise know as the naruto b**** slap"

I think I kept doing that for a week, which followed by me using the five prongseal and the chidori on him myself. LMFAO good times, good times.

Chidori is actually more powerful than Rasengan...

If you've read the manga you would have picked this up... they will explain it later on in the anime (you'll just have to wait another half year or so i think)

Chidori may be more powerful, but is usually limited to two to four times a day. Naruto has used Rasengan about 5 or 6 times in one day.

using it doesnt mean a thing besides it only works if he gets his taget and its pretty easy to just get out of the way and its kinda slow <_< on the other hand Chidori is fast and right to the point were its kinda hard to get out of the way

Crap.....but with Rasengan, you don't have do make all those hand signs. Naruto summons up a clone, and uses it. Sasuke will be making those hand signs in a fight one day...and WAH-BAM!!! He'll get knocked out before he finishes the last hand sign.

well actually he does the hand seals pretty fast and well his new Chidori that goes all over his body he doesnt need to make hand signs

You're right, Chidori is more powerful. But the point where you are wrong is that Chidori, like every other Jutsu, uses up your chakra... So Chidori is only limited by the amount of chakra that person has.... I'm pretty sure Chidori takes up more chakra than Rasengan, however the point is, if Naruto knew how to do chidori he could use it atleast twice as much as Kakashi. Also lets not forget Naruto has the Kyuubi Chakra too... which is practically an unlimited source... so he could probably go more.

Yes it's true that Chidori is much quicker than Rasengan. However Chidori has a downside, unless you have Sharingan, Chidori is dangerous because you can not see the opponents counter attack. That's why kakashi could only use it properly after he got the Sharingan and that's why he only taught Sasuke how to do it.

The reason I put my explanation of why Chidori is actually more powerful than Rasengan in a spoiler was because this is the General Discussion section and we have people in here that only watch the anime and don't want things to get spoiled by manga readers....

Anime is way behind in story line... there are another 3 major fights and lots of story...

Soo there are things you won't know... unless you read or wait for months.

Oh and Oodama Rasengan hasn't been used since that fight.

I like the Chidori more than the default the default Resengan but I think Fuuton Rasen Shuriken is by far the one I like the most. As for which one being more powerful, well I agree with basically everything ash_kun said.

I think that Ransengan with anybody but Naruto is a lot faster than chidori. Hand seals, plus having to "charge" it would take extra seconds than Ransengan with someone with good chakra control, i.e. Jiraiya when he showed it to Naruto.

Naruto has the ability to create about a thousand shadow clones? That's pretty good chakra control in my opinion.

yeah naruto doesn't have good chakra control... by himself...

he needs Kage Bunshins to help him control his chakra... Rasengan he needs one to Spatially recompose the chakra and with Fuuton Rasen Shuriken he needs 2, one to do the Rasengan and the other to Elementally recompose his chakra....
