Well after reading the death thread, i started wondering about one topic that i always think about, how was the universe, time and everything that exisit created? Was it by a super-natural force ie. "God" or another diety, and if it was created by a super-natural force, from where did this super-natural force come from? If nothing exsited but him/her/it, then how where could this diety come from? If you dont believe in the religious stuff, then how did the universe form from nothing, when this violates two basic principles, the law of conservation of matter and energy? and btw lets not consider the Super-string theory, because right now there just aint enough proof to substantiate it. So yea what do you believe created this universe?

Dude, that going pretty deep. I think the universe will always be an anamoly. Most of the theories are physically impossible, and the rest are all mind boggling. The big bang theory is an absolute crock of bull. Solid objects cannot be created from nothing. This is one of those topics that will be a mystery to us for a long time....

I believe that we can't truly understand the origins of the universe and everything else in it until we die. So from my standpoint, death is like... this super enlightenment sort of thing where, as I said, we learn about the origins of everything. ^^;

if anyone wants to read on what physics are working on to solve how the universe was created check out:

http://www.mkaku.org/articles/hyper_and_toe.shtmlGuy really is just a genious, he has so many masters and doctorate degrees it aint funny, plus he explains everything down to a faily basic level that most anyone can get, his most intresting work right now is on the super-string theory, which i mentioned, and the grand unified theory, which involves the string theory, and biscally a 1 inch long equation that solves all physics problem, einstien spent the last 15 years of his life working on this and still didnt find anything nor has any of the other physicist working on this equation since the we arent mathamatically advanced enough to solve it.

why now most of those theories have been junked, since after they tested em out the proved false, atm, the 2 theorys that there really working on are the grand unified feild theory aka the theory of everything and the super-string theory, both of these theorys relate to the formation of the universe and how to ultimately save our universe once it goes cold, biscally super-string and theory of everything tell us how we got the energy for the big-bang to occour thus the big-bang theory would no long violate any laws like conservation of matter and energy and more.

there are currently 2 theories on the creation of the universe. one is the superstring theory, which does make some sense, and the big bang. If we don't refer to the superstrng theory then, it is also said that in the big bang, time and matter did not exist before then. however, they were created as a result of the big bang. so we can't say "what happened before the big bang?" because time was created during the big bang. so if there was no time, how did the process of the big bang get through?
Did you understand what i meant?

The big bang requires more proof, I can agree on that. But you have to realize that if you're relating to 'God's Divine Creation', it's more about what you believe in - the faith. Even if we would somehow able to find out how our world was created, by like a time machine or something, maybe it's just one of those mysteries best left unsolved.

if humanity does live on for another few billion years, then you can expect the sun to become a red giant, which would make earth the closet planet to the sun, this would completely dry out all water on the plan earth and make the earths surface temperature in the 1000 degrees f. Now if we managed to survive that, then give a few hundred billon years, and the universe will start collapsing in on it self, and earth will ethier be throw out into the darkness of space with out a sun, get destoryed in the many super nova-ing stars, or get sucked into a super massive blackhole. Now if we can solve superstring/ theory of everything, and generate i believe it is 1 trillion degrees f of heat, we could make our own sub-galaxy, by causing essentially a big bang and live on in there, Also our current universe isnt going to go out in some spectaular bang with lots of energy and stuff, but will be a slow destruction by galaxy's merging together with each other, which causes both galaxies super massive blackhole to merge and suck up everything, making for a very very cold and dark place.

Okay has anyone ever taught that hey we could be some higher form of intelligence science experiment, i mean we humans pretty much have a general understand of how we could create a mini-universe, were just missing the grand unified equation thingy, and the energy to create a temperature of i believe it is 100 trillion degrees f. Alternatively, lets look at it like fishing kinda, we humans are like fishes, and the higher beings are humans, a fish really dosent know that theres anything outside of the water, so we just continue living content with the presumed knowledge that were alone in are ocean[the universe], while the humans[higher beings] observe us and occasionally catch a fish. meh i hope im making sense, but newhos what do ya think?

I am having difficulty reading this answer. I mean.. the question was who (or what/how) created the universe. When you mentioned of no reason.. does that mean... nobody (nothing) created the world? Big bang theory?

people keep on mention paticles and stuff ... if you know the big bang theory, then it is said taht there was something before this universe and a supnova explosion happen. in the explosion there was antimatter and matter, there were more matter then antimatter and then following enstein's theory there was gravational force between each matter and it form in big chunks of masses and as time goes on ... *deep breathe* the rest you should know ... in other words ... blah blah blah planets form and now is the universe as you know it

I tend to go the god-spiritualentity route...
I don't think Science has the answer I find credible. By the logic we're given, everything must have a beginning, but for the Universe to have a beginning, it must have been nothing before it was created. But how could nothing exist in reality, and how could nothing turn to something? And besides, what is the point of reality anyways? Simply to live and die, repeat for eternity, in a cycle of meaningless existence forever?
If a spiritual entity created the universe, then obviously our logic is bound by it, so it would be ridiculous to say things like "how was God created" because obviously we cannot apply our limits to the the one who created us...
Why is the Universe like this? Why does reality exist in the way it does now? Why does light exist? Why does oxygen exist? Why, why why...everything can have a why. Can you picture if our reality was structured differently? Like if light did not exist? It seems weird to think that way, doesn't it? But then why does our reality come this way?
I don't know..

Well, additional info:
The Big Bang theory centers to the fact that the universe is expanding and it argues THAT THERE IS central mass of unknown content that exploded to form the universe.
Here are the questions:
- Where did the central mass come from?
- What "detonated" that central mass and exploded to form the universe?
- How did physical laws acted to formed order to the chaotic universe without someone who controlles it?
- How did antimatter became smaller in number than matter?
- How did the four fundamental forces of the universe have formed?
- How did time and space have formed?
This list is not complete, but the question are very hard to answer when we use the BIG BANG theory to answer it.
Its advocates made the Chaos Theory in which it is possible to form order from chaos. How come?
- Are the old buildings become better after an explosion happened in it?
Some may say it is totally different from the case in bag bang, but it is the same.

I think the Universe started with the big bang, I mean it's a theory and all but it seems like the most plausible theory among the rest but that's just my opinion....
