This is a trailer for the Death Note English Dub. Here is the link
Death Note Dub TrailerLights voice is OK but could have been better, but L's concealed voice is very good in my opinion, I think Lights voice should have been more like that.

Yeah but you only here L's concealed voice so his normal voice may be better. Also the bit when they both say "I am Justice" sounds sooooo weird in English, it sounded better and had a better build-up in the Japanese version

L's voice is great. Light's voice isnt bad, considering I am almost never happy with the sound of dubbed anime voices. I think it would be interesting to watch this anime dubbed.
I was wondering if they were going to dub this or not, considering it is not really a cartoon suitable for the kids of America, who are used to pokemon and spongebob.

ROFL @ Eternal.
Yeah, I agree. Light's voice isn't very pretty in my opinion. This is why I prefer Japanese to English. I hate all English Dub. I used to think English Dub Naruto sounded normal. >.< Thanks to god for saving me. All English versions of anime kinda ruin the program..You know?

The best dub I've seen is FMA, which I wouldn't mind watching either the dub or the sub also Bleach dub is OK, but English voice actors lack the amount of emotion that Japanese voice actors can put in to their voices.

Its either that, or that we think there is more emotion. We dont speak the language (at least I dont) so we cant really be sure if they are over annunciating their words or not like they do in the english dubs. But it sure as hell sounds like they put more emotion into the voice acting, which is also my reason for strongly preferring the subbed version, even if I am stuck reading at the bottom of the screen for half the episode.

I speak the language. I should, since I'm Japanese. Anyways, Yeah. English voices don't have the emotional sensation when an Anime character says "WHY!" Of course I can say that in Japanese, I just don't have Japanese Characters, Lol. But Yes. It seems they know more about the Anime, and can actually feel the character they are. English Voice actors don't really get the grip, or believe that the character isn't even theirs. If you understand.
As a matter of fact, I watch subbing though I speak the language, I can't manage fluent just yet. But, I can understand almost most of what they say without looking at the bottom of the screen. Either that, or my conscience is reading it for me. Lol.

Where do you live? Considering the fact that you are on an English speaking forum, and seem to be proficient with English, I am going to assume that it is your primary language. Just curious Ze

After watching all the anime I have seen, I recognize Japanese phrases and such, and can even notice differences in the ways that certain translators translate certain parts. Other than simple speech however, I am lost as I have ever taken a Japanese class in my life, nor do I really plan on it.

I take Japanese. I also watched over millions of animes. After learning some, I picked up basic Japanese skills. I'm still learning Kanji, but I live in Cali. Lol. Yeah, English is my main. I'm not full Japanese, but I always get the Mexican Comment. XD

Ah. I just watch the Japaneses animations. Im not Japanese or anything, its just that they make the best form of entertainment.

=_=' Surprisingly quickly too.
I'm Japanese, Filipino, Italian, Spanish, and Idiot. The Spanish is about 2%. The Italian is about 45%. The rest is Asian. My eyes are SLANTED! Not being racist against myself, just trying to prove a point. XDD
Opps. Forgot. I'm about 100% Idiot by the way, I have a whole nother Pie Graph. XD
I'm not full, but you can tell I'm Asian with the facial features. Yet I always get the Mexican. Not being racist about that, I just got it all my life, and considering how close I am to my Japanese roots, it can get annoying after your girlfriend thinks your Mexican too. >_>

I'm pretty sure you can hear L's real voice when he says "if you can" right after the "I am justice part" towards the end. Light's voice is a bit too high pitched.

Light's voice wasn't that good, it sounded too Amercian &...I don't know, it just didn't fit well with his appearence. Hardly anything of L's voice was heard but it sounded okay from what I could hear, but we'll see.
