Naruto's rasengan is only deadlier than sasuke's chidori (pre time-skip) because naruto have more chakra and the badass kyuubi chakra.

Rasengan is more powerful, chidori looks cooler...

Hmm...I disagree. I think chidori is more deadly (powerful) than rasengan. The rooftop fight between Sasuke and Naruto only showed that rasengan made a bigger hole, simply because chidori is a piercing attack. It’s like stabbing someone with a blade versus hitting them with a baseball bat. The bat may look to do more damage, but the blade is much deadlier.

Kakashi killed Haku with the chidori intended for Zabuza. I don’t remember rasengan ever killing anyone. Naruto hit Kabuto with it, when the sanins were battling it out. Kabuto didn’t die and was able to recover. When Kakashi first taught Sasuke the chidori, I think Kakashi can use it 4 times. I don’t think the rasengan has such limitations, since it is just pure chakra. This tells me that the chidori is much more concentrated with power, plus it already has nature manipulation built into it.

Well actually if you go back to the fight on the rooftop you'll see that in the conversation between Jiraiya and Kakashi, Kakashi tells Jiraiya that Sasuke would have died if they would have connected

I do remember Jiraiya questioning Kakashi why he taught Sasuke such a dangerous technique, and vice versa with rasengan.

My thought is just that chidori already has nature manipulation in it, and rasengan is just pure chakra spinning around.

come on the chidori can cut through lightning while the rasengan can only look like a sphere (yes i know the rasengan is very strong but i just love the chidori)

Sorry, I still vote for chidori. The chidori release Sasuke used to pawn Yamato, Sai and Naruto at the same time is pretty darn awesome. Sasuke is also able to infuse chidori into his sword. I don't see Naruto landing his fuuton rasengan since it has to be close range, while Sasuke can extend the range of his chidori attacks.

Yes, I think fuuton rasengan has much better destructive power. The downside of course is shattering your arm down to the molecular level, and close range limitation (oh, and short duration).

but other than that its awesome

NarutoF I was talking about if they collided, I didn't count if they would actually be able to hit lol if they collided though, not only would the Rasengan win it would also kill Saucegay

see i recon with the way the attacks work what happened with chidori vs rasenga was sasuke halted the movement of naruto and poped the sheild around the typhone naruto had lost his demond clock by this point and sasuke was covering him self with his wing (see manga) so naruto got more force than sasuke and was damaged by the demond cloke nyhoo

now if sasuke was to pop the bubble again (so to speake itd be likely that naruto would get torn upretty badly and sasuke would (with out something like kakashis ms) get apourised sumwhat simmilar to kakazu

I don't think Sasuke would die from an impact from the attacks. Naruto would win at a collision, but Sasuke wouldn't die, at least i hope not. Sasuke would be pretty banged up though. But it is a downside to Naruto that he has to make contact while Sasuke has a wide range.

K20 - I know what you were saying, and I agreed that fuuton rasengan has more destructive power. The creator of this topic asked which one was better (not more destructive), so I had to consider all the limitations and advantages of each technique. With the limitations I listed above for FR, it is also slow to setup (2 shadow clones to mold the chakra). In a real fight, especially against someone as fast as Sasuke, I really don't think Naruto will get a chance to pull something like that off, not to mention using it. So all things considered, I think chidori and chidori release are the better jutsus.

I understand what you're saying NarutoF, and I agree with everything BUT the time thing, because well...For the Chidori you have to charge Chakra into your hand and that takes time itself.

but the rasengan takes time too and in my opinion the chidori is too good for sasuGay to know
why kakashi why did you have to teach him your best and coolest jutsu why?

Chidori is stronger than normal rasengan, kakashi said that when training naruto to use wind element.

well, both techniques take time to concentrate chakra. typically rasengan doesn't require hand seals. but since Naruto requires shadow clones to help him, he has to first summon the clones, which require hand seals, and then mold chakra. from what we've seen, the hand seals are really quick for chidori, at least when Kakashi or Sasuke uses it

well it depends on the user...and i think the chidori is stronger though....most of the time atleast.

I agree for the fact that Sasuke or Kakashi needs less time to bring up chidori compared to Rasengan by Naruto...
But Jiraiya can use Rasengan as well as YOndaime,who is the creator of rasengan. Yondaime was also known as flash n i believe tat his use of rasengan is faster(but no prove since we have neva seen him in action).
Jiraiya:he did use the rasengan without taking much time to bring it out.
Just wondering when Naruto wil learn to use it without depending on his bunshin

Some of you guys are just saying chidori because it looks better and sounds cool, but I'm gonna go with rasengan.Its stronger and 10x better than chidori.

I love the Rasengan and all the different forms it comes in, but I like Chidori better. It has different types as well, and I love the bird sound, it's eerie. Besides Rasengan is a direct attack when Chidori can be emitted outward.

I thought Chidori way back when but when Rasengan came into the picture...I liked it better. It's incomplete and you're able to manipulate it into more physical forms than sending it through your body.

Rasengan i like more, it a Jutsu from Minato. The jutsu has the option to creat a ne one with more power because its not complete. . Sure Chidori has the same option, but i think the rasengan is more Powerfull

Yeah. Plus Chidori requires handsigns where as you can almost instantly focus your chakra for Rasengan.

Yeah But even Naruto needs always time to creat the Rasengan, he needs 1 Clone for Rasengan ,so i think there is no advantage. But when you mean all Persons where can use Rasengan, then yes

I would say both take time and both are effective. Although I find chidori to be the better jutsu.
