Reckless

Infidelity, manipulation
Defining my situation;
I'm too trusting and too naive,
And I too easily believe
In that sweet honey that pours from your lips,
Making my weak logic eclipse.
Racing towards my own disaster,
But I just keep running faster
Propelled by emotions I can't master.

It can't be done.

Anyone
Manipulate
My tender heart.
Logic protects
It's counterpart.

It seems to be
My heart's true bane
That my mind
Fights off pain.
It kills all love
Because of fear;
Emotions it
Will not hear.

You said that love
Does not make sense.
If that's true,
My defense
Will do its best
To stop me from
Feeling that thing
Others call love.

Misery's Seduction

Feel it pull you in;
Lust beneath the skin
To surrender to the dark;
Feel it leave its mark.

Feel it pull you down;
Desiring to drown
In your deep dark pools of woe,
Beauty that you know.

Fight against the tide
Of the emotions inside
That threaten to destroy
Misery's sweet joy.

Long to feel the breath
Of your own won'drous death;
Keep it close enough to know
You're never alone.

Addicted to pain,
Misery's bloody rain.
The strange happiness it brings
Seems to give you wings.

Emotional Relief

One touch from you and I forget
The aching pain that holds my soul,
But I cannot let go just yet
Of that which makes me less than whole.

One kiss from you and I can feel
Emotions I thought I had killed,
And it seems to be so unreal
That this emptiness can be filled.

Pain devours my sanity,
And pure bitterness floods my heart;
Your arms offer sanctuary,
Relief from this consuming dark.

Your presence is all that I need
To suspend the dark plague within;
I am temporarily freed
From my own thought’s painful din.

One caress ignites a passion
That can suppress my inward rage;
Feeling in a whole new fashion
That which was previously caged.

I can not yet call this love,
Though you’re freeing me from my past,
The one thing I am most scared of
Is that such affections will not last.
