why do people think the fourth is the akatsuki leader there is really no connection unlike obito and tobi with the one eye thing and the mask with one eye and the spikey hair but the akatsuki leader and the fourth ?? why ??
Because it would make a really good twist in the story plus the fact there's the possibility he is still alive
i don't think it would make a good twist the fourth is a symbol of heroism in konoha everybody had the highest amount of respect for him in konoha, and if they would make him the main villain of the story it would turn into a soap opera and the possibilty of him being alive is just as big as the first the second the third zabuza haku sasori etc.. being alive.
since we've actually seen the third, zabuza, haku, sasori die, and seen the first and second's spirits summoned, but nothing about the fourth, the possibility of the fourth still being alive is actually a little higher than those being alive. as we've only been told the 4th died, and didn't see it. also, i don't think people really saw him do the attack, as the scene in the beginning of the series only shows a bright flash (in the anime at least) and the fact the 4th developed that technique means there could've been a loophole in the sacrifice part that he didn't tell the 3rd.
as an added note, i hope if the identity of the AL causes conflict in naruto, i hope it's well done and not corny like a soap opera as uzumaki avatar said

Good point thatguy, but, with theories flying about, there's not alot of stuff that is unexpected.
i seriously doubt the 4th is dead but somehow i think he has something to do with naruto or the akatsuki but im still thinkin on what it could possibly be because i am really interested to see how and what he has been doin if he is alive

If the 4th is the AL, Orochimaru wouldnt have wasted the time or the Chakra trying to raise a empty grave. Orochimaru must know who the AL is....I honestly think He's an Uchiha or Even a Relative of Naruto (4th's brother maybe).. THere is a theory that there my be an Uzumaki Clan (why does Naruto always wear that Symbol of the Spiral on his left arm and back of his jacket - which the Uzumaki name is a Pun of.
naruto's name means steamed fish paste cake and that symbol on his jacket happens to be the symbol they youse on the steamed fish paste cake (refers to ep 185) so if there was an uzumaki clan and they used that symbol what a cowincidence

Ha, I just read from another Naruto fansite forum. And the ideas they come up with is quite entertaining.
But it's in another language so I'll just explain it as briefly as I could...
-The Fourth (Yondaime) is actually Naruto himself. He didn't seal Kyuubi into 'himself' and got 'reincarnated' as a baby. But rather it seems that Yondaime sealed Kyuubi inside his past-self.
The explanation for this was Naruto got into an 'accident' whilst in a battle, and somehow he was transported back in time, to the older days before he was even born, and there he started again to be a shinobi for Konoha whilst trying to find a way to bring himself back to his own time.
However, he got the acknowledgment that he had always desired there, and being stuck, he continued to aim for Hokage, learning under Jiraiya again without revealing his true identity since nobody would believe him if he told anyone he's from the future.
(But at that while he was no longer possessing Kyuubi inside of him due to the previous 'accident' that got him there in the first place.)
And because without Kyuubi, he struggled hard and more accepted by the Konohas, achieving to become the Fourth Hokage in that time though he realised he would die from fighting Kyuubi in that era.
But cutting the long story short, what happened when he finally fought Kyuubi and sealed it into his newly born-self (baby Naruto that he found in a 'ransacked' village done by Kyuubi), he didn't die, but instead again got transported in time, a few years ahead after the time he was supposed to have been missing/dead.
And from there, the fight for Sasuke and against Akatsuki begins anew, also for his lovelife to finally develope.-
Well, it was entertaining enough for me to read it, and ponder some thoughts into it. And the idea is quite in line with the anticipated movie that says Naruto going to die in it.(August-September, cant wait to see it!).
But it is also hilarious to think that Naruto was trapped in the past by accident, not to mention that although he is similar looking to the Fourth, their character and intelligence does not match up at all.

Ha, relax. Thats just some wild ideas made by the fans, and they are currently building quite a story based on that theory. It doesn't have the need to explain of how Naruto was born, since like stated above in my previous post, 'baby Naruto that he found in a 'ransacked' village done by Kyuubi'.
So its as obvious as the current theorized storyline,which is, Naruto is an orphan, newly born by the time Kyuubi came and destroy his village. No effort was made to describe his birth parents. He's a simple unfortunate orphan with unknown origins, just like many of Konoha's residents/shinobis (example: Sai)
(Why nobody bothered about Sai parents? Hmm, double-standard dont you think? Anyway, Naruto is the main character of coz...)
And the story does not goes on forever in a circle just because of that (in that theory).

my bad what i meant to say was how the kyuubi's chakra acts like a poison even yamato comment's on it and says he is suprised that naruto can stand it

Well, since Kyuubi is already inside of Naruto, and giving him the ability of boosted instant cell regeneration, Naruto can withstand Kyuubi's chakra's burning effects on his skin and body.
What happen is, at the same time Kyuubi's chakra starts to burn his skin&flesh, his skin already hardened due to the chakra but not durable enough to withstand the heat and flame.
He kept burning himself and his cells kept regenerating on and on in that 4 tailed mode.
But though he regens, he still takes the damage and it will shorten his life span due to the massive amount of cells regenerating and chakra use.
Added, Naruto's own chakra (which is undetermined the amount of his own original stamina and chakra, just like Kyuubi himself) protects him from further damage and from being totally dominated by Kyuubi's overwhelming chakra. And that was the surprising part (of Naruto's own huge chakra).

Well all im saying is that there are demons outside the 1-9 tails demons we know. there is anothe spectrum of demons unknown to the naruto uneverse that wont appear till after the shippuuden sags.
