As compared to Nintendo's in the past. This actually draws non-gamers to join with veteran gamers. Due to the Wii Sports, Wii Play party titles. I mean, you can't go wrong with that. And plus that Nintendo wanted to build more on what Nintendo had going for the DS. Which was it's stylus pointer. But in the wii they use a nunchuck to do that.

You must be out of your mind! Half the people who bought the ps3 put it on ebay so all they wanted was to sell the ps3 over ebay to some rich kids in europe so they have it before anyone else. Plus sony has nothing out right now and lets face it resistance is not a killer app no game is going to make anyone go out and buy a 600 dollar consle. Although I love my xbox 360 and im a hard core fan of the xbox games i say the nintendo will win hands down. They have the most inovative controls that lure people who wouldnt think of ever picking up a game and captivates them in intresting gameplay. Ps3 will dreamcast it because of the price and lack of games.

nintendo isn't desperate they were smart, they knew that their graphics weren't going to be strong and decided to make it so that they build up to the 720 pp over a year or so, also sony's price was way to high and if the wii was the same price as the xbox w/ lower graphics who would buy it? there are way to many factors for me to name but if you want to know more info pm me and i can tell ya

Actually, its cause its cheaper to make. It was supposed to be 100 but some hardware in it, boosted up the price.

I'm not doubting Sony, but putting everything in a hig price range came out of no where, I would buy a PS3 only the games I want is out (Tekken 6, MGS4) and you don't know how long thats going to take.

People are only getting PS3 for 2 reasons:

1: They know absolutley nothing about games and are just getting it because it's the most popular
2: It's the most expensive.

The Wii is a revolutionary console. It's something that never happened before. Give me one thing that is a "new experiance" if you like that the PS3/360 has? But I like the 360. But the PS3 I see no reason why people are getting it.

Why the hell would you buy a games console just because it has good graphics? Obviously it needs half-decent graphics which the Wii has. PS3 has the best graphics but the key word in Games Console is game. If anyone can name me 3(just 3) good exclusive games that are coming out on the PS3 then I will shut up.

Michael, it's p, not pi, and firstly, none of them run at true HD, since there isn't a television in the world that can do it yet. Only high quality monitors.

Secondly, if you think the Wii is too cheap, then you have no idea whatsoever.

The Nintendo Wii is the ONLY Next Gen console which makes money from the off.

For every PS3 sold, Sony lose $241.35. Thats a fuckload, but luckily they get money back in software sales.

The xbox is a similar situation, just not as much.

The Wii is the only one which the developers actually get profit from.


And Sesoma0, I hope you just realised you suggested that we should buy a Ps3 with the intention of having fun instead of a Wii, in the same sentence which you said "the Wii is made to have fun". Nintendo Wii rocks, and hell it's fun, and it will continue to be fun as long as they release fun games. While spending £400 on a console to play 2 games, is neither good value, nor good sense; and you won't even get the same enjoyment.

Hey id hate to break it but nintendo sorta isnt making money off its console either. Softpedia had an artical on it. They checked everything and it turned out they were making nothing for the console. But they didnt check the controller, the nunchuck so they wouldnt be making any money. I support the wii all the way though

The Xbox and PS3 games simply aren't based on Playability, but about experience, visually, emotionally, and dramatically.

I agree, some people prefer games which contain an experience, some people prefer games which are concentrated on fun - Which is why if you ARE looking for those kinds of games, you should get a Wii.

And you can't look at these games as anything but categories, every console will have every sports game since EA are pretty much the only person which makes them, and they love making multiplatform games.

We're talking about the games which are unique to individual consoles.

PS3 get MGS, Xbox get Halo, and Wii gets games like Super Monkey Ball and Super Smash Bros.

I go back to my former statement.

If you want games designed solely for enjoyment, go for Wii (Games which are fun)
If you want games designed for experience go for something else.

PS: In response to your PS, Ofcourse there are exceptions to each of the consoles, but we're talking in general terms, looking at the average games coming for each system. Xbox - Graphics and Expierience. PS3 - Graphics and Expierience. Wii - Multiplayer and Fun.

Exactly. I wanted to say that but you beat me to it. Some systems are preferred by people for the sole reason of games unique to them. For me, that initial drive to get a Wii came from Zelda. However, you can't say that games for Wii are "fun" and that games for other systems are not (relatively), because "fun" is personal. Some people derive enjoyment from playing games found on one system or the other. Experience may result in a greater amount of joy (fun) for these individuals.

hmmm I disagree that nintendo is desperate. They still have the DS, which is the best selling hand held on the market, and I'm surethat the wii doesn't cost that much to maufacure seeing that nintendo always goes for inovativness rather that power. Even then the graphics on the wii are beautiful. Nintendo is just cost-effective

Nah 250$ isnt all that cheap for a videogame, Gamecube for an example was released for 199$. The fact is that PS3 released very expensive and X360 was really released too soon for his graphic and online powers thats why he was expensive too.

Well where I am Wii's are so high in demand right now I just got mine 2 weeks ago even tho I've been looking for one sence Christmas.

Exaclty and that demand has pumped Wii price to over 390$ in some places sooo... it isnt really cheap right now and I agree with one poster up here make a console accesible to ppl isn't despair.

the wii isn't desperate since they know people will buy it for the games and fun and the reason they made it lower might actually be because they want people to stop being lazy and actually work off the fat that they have been getting (great excuse to the parents to buy a wii) and it is more for the family which more people will buy for. but my opinion of the sysytems are
wii-more exclusive titles, greater variety,and better game play alone and with friends, no problems (besides broken TVs)
xbox360-more for hard core gamers who are more into playing online and proving something, been out longer, problems (red ring of death)
ps3-best grapics but lacks the games

and ninjadragon i do know of three ps3 games that will be good: devil may cry, kingdom hearts, and metal gear

From where I'm at, Wii was originally somewhere about $650 when it first camed out. Now its about $300 but no one can ever find one because they always sends most of it to Europe, because the makers make more money selling it there because of the exchanging of money.

Nintendo's trying to change the way gaming is perceived. They're trying to make it cheap and accessible, and for everyone to play. Like people have already mentioned, they're not desperate, they're changing the gaming world.

Ya Nintendo Wii is indeed changing the gaming world. It's a good thing that Wii gamers can conveniently download their games online and play them straight away. I like that because its economical. I have downloaded 10 games and all I had to pay was $50. Besides, Wii gives me a great workout-gaming too unlike other consoles.
