Okay, so I was always interested in playing Final Fantasy, but there are just SO many of them and I have a feeling that I'll buy one and I'll have no idea what's going on in the story line, you know?

Are they continuations of eachother or is there a new story in each game, I mean, considering all the characters are the same (?) I'm assuming it's a continuation.

So... um... help?

Depends.... Are you a hardcore RPG man? Prolly not if you havent even played Final Fantasy!! Id recomend FF9 for PS. Its easy going , fun, above average story, cool cast of characters.

Also a remake of the classic FF6 for GBA is coming out sometime in 2007. I'm checkin that one out for sure.

Yeah, they're completely different characters and stories (well, mostly).

Personally, I suggest 10. 10 was the first for PS2. The graphics on the original PS just aren't as good and all. Plus I think the story line in 10 is better than 9. 10 was the first one I played, and it got me hooked. It's very addictive. It's like playing a video game and watching a movie at the same time. You just have to know what's going to happen next.

play FF7 its has the best story line ever!!!!!!!!! I love the story line to it.
but like Paradox886 said that FF10 is good to play and its easy.

Whatever you do don't listen to that one guy and buy 9 first. I like the game but it will turn a new person off.
My favorite is 8, don't get that one first either.

if u like too see the last boss do some major bad a** destroying i recommed final fantasy 6 the last boss does stuff there, only sephiroth dreams of doing,
but myself enjoy final fantasy 5 both ps1 and gba the gba one has a nice deal on it, its like 18 or 20 bucks so its worth buying.

Final Fantasy VII is definately the best ff game ever, it had the best story, and awsome backgrounds, and a nice soundtrack. The only low quality thing was the sfx. Get ff7 it's the best.

You could try FF7 if you don't mind dated graphics. Or if you want to go with something a little easier on the eyes for PS1 you could try FF9. Although it isn't a FF9 game you should play Chrono Cross for the PS1. For the PS2 FFX is a good game for a first time to get into. I wouldn't recommend FFXII though, it's not bad but it's not the game I would recommend to a FF first timer.

I'd have to say FF7, it's the first FF I played and I loved it, it was easy to get into and had a brilliant storyline.

the first i ever played was ffx then i got a PSX emu and played 7 and alot more basicly 7 or 10 would be great just dont get 12...it sucks

I, personally, started off with FFVII. The graphics aren't as spectacular as they are today considering it was back in the days of PS1, but I liked the old school feel to it, and it definitely made up for it in the storyline.

FFVII rocked!!! it was my first final fantasy and bekause of that i bekome a final fantasy fanatic..The graphics arent as special but the storyline the characters the long the story prologed....it was amazing...

I already do, lol.



I like 12, but it's a bit different from the others and I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has never played, but still, I find it very enjoyable.
