i think shikamaru is better bc he is strong but also smart he could win battle and even if he is losing he could come back up and win

I pick Shikamaru bc all Kakashi (and Sasuke) ever do is copy others. That's just boring. Shika's a lot more original and quick on his feat wich is why he can beat any opponent. 200 IQs for crying out loud!

To the people who talked about Shika's strategy: it's already been clearly stated in the show that Kakashi is smarter than Shika, and he's clearly a better fighter. We've seen him open 2 gates (he did it very briefly during his training), and I'm sure he can open more, and he knows probably the most ninjutsu after the Professor the 3rd Hokage. Shikamaru's has.....2 jutsu? It's almost surprising he graduated from the academy, b/c back then he only had 1 jutsu and hadn't really shown how smart he was.

This is a debate. Kakashi is way better then Shikamaru. They both are very intelligent but I think Kakashi is more and I am sure kakashi can do the shadow tech.

Kakashi is better because shikamaru only know a couple jutsus while Kakashi knows a lot and more powerful moves.
i doubt who would win in Shogi or Go, but in strategy games, i think shikamaru wins.

I totally agree with u, else than that Kakashi is trained by th 4th hokage..kakahi is very mysterious thou...I never thought he could use his Sharingan as he did, and also kakashi is the anbu leader, right? he wouldnt be leader if he wasnt good enough...well in fact comparing kakashi and shikamaru is ..well what to call it...is pointless....

I personally like Kakashi better, I think that he just as smart or smarter than shikamaru. Whil i do like shikamaru a lot. You must remember that kakashi was a Anbu, ill repeat Anbu, black ops leader. He knows countless jutsu and is also extremely strong. He is also 1 of 4 other people to obtain the mangekyou sharigan. The others being mandara, mandara's brother, and itachi. Thats is a legendary accomplishment. Thats why kakashi is better. Just so i hope you know, im not hateing on shikamaru, i think he is a great ninja, and ridiculoulsy smart. I just think Kakashi is better

i don't honnestly know shikamaru impresses kakashi a lot later in the manga and gets some new tricks to boot also kakashi couldnt copy shika shadow bind as its a bloodlimit at the moment id say kakshi would snatch it but only through shika being less powerful (chunin jounin)
