Chapter 1- Vampire Ways

People have always told you the same old things: vampires hate garlic; holy water makes them burn; they have no reflection; to kill them, you must drive a stake through their hearts.
I can tell you most of these are complete and total lies, and trust me, I would know. As for garlic, really, come on. What has it ever done to us? Nothing, really, but if your sense of smell was so acute that you could pick up the scent of fear from your prey miles away, do you really think garlic would smell that great to you?
And holy water...I personally don't believe such a thing exsists. Some people find solace in their so-called gods whom they think will protect them from their impending doom if they simply believe; but I only have one question: believe in what? How can you possibly put your life into the hands of someone you can't see, much less have never heard from before? I have enough trouble trusting anyone with my own life, and I'm immortal.
The lack of reflection, though, is true to a certain degree: we vampires have as clear reflections as you who is reading this, for sure; but only we can see them. I suppose you could say mortals can see our reflections, but they see us in our human form: I only see myself as the monster I've become; I've forgotten what my human form even looks like.
Last but not least, the stake. For goodness sakes, are you going to drive a stake through your mother's heart and if she dies accuse her corpse of being a vampire? Of course not! A blow through the heart would be fatal to any creature; that treacherous form of death isn't simply reserved for my kind.
But of course, the vampire is most infamous for its "blood-sucking fangs". Indeed, we do feed off the blood of humans to sustain ourselves. This is not for sport, by any means, though. That's where a lot of mortals go wrong. They think we're these horrible creatures who prey on harmless humans (Heh, hardly harmless. Vampire slayers do actually exsist.) for the joy of draining their life force.
That's so far from the truth, I would bite myself and drink my own blood before I admitted it.
Believe it or not, we're forced to feed off mortals. Nothing, not one single solitary morsel of food or drop of any drink can cure our hunger besides the bittersweet taste of warm, thick, crimson blood.
I won't deny it tastes wonderful...
but how can I help that?
After all of that, there's no need to tell you that I indeed am a vampire, as I forementioned it many times. I should also mention that we vampires are completely, totally, infinately alive; not dead like mortal beliefs may have led you to think. I don't sleep in a coffin, a bed suits me fine, and light doesn't burn me: I just perfer the dark. I, luckily, was born into a specific vampire clan, so I was not forced to be bitten by my own kind to become what I am. I come from the most powerful clan in the Village Hidden in the Flames. There are only three vampire villages on this earth, and mine resides in the Fire Country. A vampire village cannot be seen; a mortal could walk right through it, and think they're taking a stroll through the forest, and not even know it.
Nevertheless, there are ways to see our villages, namely the Hyuga clan and their wretched Byakugan. They are some of the only beings on earth that can see our villages and us for what we truely are, even in human form. They are our mortal enemies, and also the single, solitary reason the world even knows of the vampire exsistence. Only one war has been forged between us and our sworn enemies, though, and that was hundreds of years ago when vampires were as numerous as mortals themselves. Half of us died in that war, and we wiped out an equal amount of the Hyuga clan. Since then, the vampires went into hiding and the Hyuga clan kept passing down the fact that vampires actually do exsist, pitting the whole world against us.
We do have our defenses, though. My village in particular is named as such, the Village Hidden in the Flames, because a wall of violet fire encircles it. This is no ordinary fire, though. If any mortal or an enemy of our kind gets closer than 50 yards, the flames spit balls of smaller flame at them, which eats at their skin slowly and painfully until they're left, fleshless and deprived of life. A mile from our village in all directions are stationed vampires, to fight coming enemies or warn us in advance.
But I've gotten ahead of myself.
I told you my kind went into hiding. Well, we're still hiding like cowards from the rest of the world. Us vampires are ninja just like most of the population of the Fire Country, but our fighting style is just a bit different.
We have jutsu and chakra like any other ninja, but our chakra is a deep, blood red. My kind only use our jutsu if we wish not to reveal our true identities, but we prefer to fight with our vampiric abilities.
As a vampire, I can move objects with my mind, communicate with it, and read other's minds. I can smell fear and sense it miles away, as I can fresh blood. A vampire's wounds heal near instantly; especially deep cuts, broken bones, anything along that line may take longer to right themselves, though.
All vampires have a spirit demon to transform into; so the vampire bat myth is true to a certain extent. The spirit demon reflects its vampire's personality; mine is a panther. Sleek; cunning; mysterious; solitary. My panther has ruby red eyes, as do I.
Since I've spilled so many secrets to you thus far, I might as well relenquish my name as well.
I am Kyuuketsuki, of the Village Hidden in the Flames.

Chapter 2- Summons to the Vampire Village

I sit in a dark, dreary corner of a mortal pub; usually I take to the pubs of my own kind, but people watching suits me. I just have to try extra hard to avoid human contact, besides the mortals who bring me my drinks. I've grown accostomed to drinking mortal blood; I've lost all taste for human refreshment, as it does nothing to vanquish my hunger or thirst. But I drink this vile, human beverage anyway, so as to not draw suspicion. I have to do everything in my power to keep mortals away from me, as somehow my mere apperance arouses nervousness or suspicion. I curse the males of the mortal world, though; they find something about me attractive, though even in my human form I'm noticably pale and thin. So, in response to the idiocy of human men, I try to keep away from them as much as possible. Mortal men disgust me.
Unfortunately, though, they're hard to evade.
"Why don't you just come sit over here with meh and we--," came an attempt at a smooth request, which I promptly cut off, from a man whom I could tell just by his tone of voice that he was a pervy jerk.
So I gave him what all pervy jerks deserve...
"You even think about opening your horrible, germ-infested mouth or directing your idiotic, vile, and not to mention incredibly pathetic pick up lines at me again, I'll peel that slimy, disgusting flesh off your bones so fast you won't even be able to get any more drunk than you already are."
....a sound verbal beating.
I said this in a voice so icy, so blood-chillingly cold, it sent a shiver down my own spine and silenced the whole bar. My emerald green eyes flashed (I'm in my human form) and the man trembled and dropped his shot glass, which shattered at my feet; one of the shards richocheted and cut his leg, which he didn't even notice; he was too busy cowering in his fear; but I smelled the scent of mortal blood and my vampire side threatened to take over.
I hadn't hunted tonight yet...it was still relatively early...I had to get out before I transformed; around the scent of blood, especially when I'm hungry, sometimes my vampiric senses overtake my human ones. If that happened, things could get really bad, really fast.
So I turned on my heel, dark red hair whipping behind me as I did so, and left before I got out of control. Upon my leaving, I passed a table with four grown men and a woman at it; the woman caught my eye...she harbored red eyes. Ruby red eyes. Though in mortal form, red eyes are still common among vampires. I dismissed the thought, and kept walking.
I was headed back to my apartment, which was located in this village of Konoha, which I was in. Most of my kind live in the vampire village, but I prefer to avoid my own kind just as dilligently as mortals. You don't want to cross a vampire; they're very territorial, and it's easier just to keep out of vampire villages (even though I lived there for half my life) so you don't have to worry about crossing into someone else's territory, unless you were looking for a duel.
I kept to the shadows and leapt effortlessly and silently on top of my building, as I was up for a little moon-gazing while I looked for suitable prey. The moon makes me stronger; it eases my hunger enough to make it bearable, but the want--the need--is still there.
My extremely sharp eyes caught sight of the perfect prey: a young girl, probably around my mortal age of 22. Really, I'm 236 and counting.
But we won't get into that.
I closed my eyes and allowed my vampiric side to take me over; it's a horrifying transformation for anyone who isn't accostomed to vampires. For me, it's just another part of life. My sparkling, emerald, mortal eyes become huge and dialated; they glaze over, as if I'm dead, but some spark still lingers; enough to chill you to the core. The pupils become enlongated; little slits, almost like a serpent's eyes, and my green irises run red with crimsonuity. My long, dark red hair is swiftly infected with streaks of black that take it over, choking out the red, leaving only one bang that hangs over my right eye unharmed with the touch of blackness: it becomes a deep violet instead.
My skin becomes even chalkier than it usually is, and my cainines lengthen, gleaming mercilessly in the moonlight.
I'm ready.
I swiftly leap off the top of my apartment building, silent and deadly, my black trench coat billowing behind me, and follow the young girl. She's blonde and has a pretty face; it's too bad she has to die as prey. She walks hurriedly, as if she wants to get somewhere fast, like she thinks someone is following her. Heh. Stupid human. It's just like them to panic; to turn tail and run. They never stand up to their own battles.
She takes a wrong turn, and in less than a minute I have her cornered in a dark alley. She can't see me, but I see her perfectly: I see all too well the worried lines in her flawless face, the fear in her pretty blue eyes.
Now she can sense me; but no matter, her fear has her frozen to the spot. I advance, flashing my fangs in the bright starlight, and she lets out a stifled scream. Whatever fate she had planned for herself, kids, marriage...it was all about to end.
Then she does something unexpected-she faints. I knew humans were cowardly, but none of my victims has ever fainted..well, not before I bit them, anyway. No matter; her blood is still good. I can nearly taste it in her veins; her life force bubbling just beneath that tanned skin.
I kneel down and bend her head back to expose her throat; I lean my head down, my fangs itching to pierce her skin; they're a centimeter away--
"You're Kyuuketsuki...right?"
I could have murdered him. "Yes," I hissed, radiating cold waves of fury at him; he had interfered with my feeding. That is considered an insult to any vampire; if I was feeling up to it, I would have made him pay. But I felt the urge to know what he wanted and how he knew my name.
"You're wanted in the Village Hidden in the Flames, at an hour before sun up," the vampire said. I still hadn't turned to look at him yet.
"Fine...but can I feed first, or are you going to stand there and let me kill you?"

He was gone before I could get a good look at him.
