have these extra invisible hands that can reach a certain distance for each person.

nana - - a girl with horns and powers like lusy but a but weaker

It's a freaking good action anime with a great romance plot. Every aspect of humanity is present and looking deeper, this anime has some psychological implications that tie together the whole story.

However, just watching it is fun. It's actually rated "R," so watch out.

It's truly amazing, there are only 13 episodes however.

Not only is it a ******* AMAZING piece of work, it also has great story, love and one of the best endings i've seen in a while.

Watched the first episode (the graphics were so good, and I'm guessing it was uploaded from an original source), and am currently looking for the rest. XD With blood and gore, and some nudity, but overall it's a nice series.

OK, don't hate me after rading this.

This is the worst anime that I have ever watched, and I watched A lot.
Main plot is so idiotic that I wanted to puke after forcing my self to watch all 13 episodes.

Lusy is a psychopath. Ok she had a rough childhood, but to kill a bunch of people just cause they were looking at her differently. Killing, meaningless killing, slayer of innocence. This are words that come to my mind as I recall this anime. She is part sweet little girl, naive and innocent. And prat a serial killer, a mass murderer with remorse.
She even killed father and sister of Kuuta and for what?

Kuuta. What to say about him? Well he is a retard. He has sense of what is going on around him like a stone statue. He knows nothing about human emotions, and no one can be this dumb. Plus his statement that he loves Lusy even after he found out that she killed his family. Come on! This is moronic. And he is blind for feelings that his cousin Yuka has for him.

Mayu, the only bright point of this series. The only character that is decently done. She has her sad story, very sad story, but is still a god person. Felt very sorry for her while watching this.

I hope no one is offended, this is MY opinion, and is by no means right one!!!

If you mean quality of animation, I was not referring to that cause it's awesome.
I was talking about story, witch sucks. The philosophy of characters is simply idiotic. No one i their right mind is going to act like Kuuta, unless he is retarded.

Since when was Anime about naturalism? Characters are based on story and situation, and the character himself does actually have alot of both history and depth, as does Lucy, both characters suffer through fear, guilt, love, desperation.

In terms of character development it's perfect, and it didn't even require "Character level 2" as it does in One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, DBZ, and almost any other action anime.

This is an anime, which although is very action based, doesn't actually focus on the action, and if you feel the characters are unrealistic, that's fine, but you can't say that they're not looked after or dealt with badly by the animators nor the script/story writers.

And lastly, onto the story: Yes, perhaps it's slightly unrealistic, but atleast the "Insert Alien Here" character is imaginatively crafted and developed, an anime where the bad guys have background, personality, and realistic ambition/agenda, unlike almost every other villain in anime at the moment. The story itself is strong with a very effective and dramatic beginnings a twisting and involving middle, and a emotionally climatic ending, which brings forth a fantastically crafted story about "Insert Alien Here" characters.

This is again, totally unlike any other anime around. Infact, if other anime creators took the time, effort and imagination, to make imaginative descriptive and developed characters such as these, the anime world itself would be a much better place.

Excellent I am enjoying the latest instalment.

It is all a matter of opinion. People ether love or hate this show. I am one of the people that can not stand this show. But that is my opinion. It is simply to unrealistic and idiotic for my taste.

BTW all of the, dam I forgot their name so I'll call them, "horned people" are level 2 humans.

One of the best Anime i have ever seen it takes a few episodes to get used to it so dont give up on it if its not what you were expecting in the begining

A, review after my taste. This show is crap as far as I am concern.

Even if you didn't enjoy it, I don't believe you could ever call it "crap".

The art and music is amazing. The story is imaginative and unlike anything else.

Lighten up? Well, he does have an opinion, so I think you should let him be entitled to it.

The art is not the best I have seen, but it is pretty well done, I give it that. The music wasnt something I found to be that great either, actually all of the audio was nothing but average imo.

The story, well its about someone being rejected and feared for being different, and then becoming accepted by nice and considerate people. I have seen this before, sounds like a lot of animes, or at least one part of a lot of them. Demons and humans, kind of a popular thing too. Well, they call it Diclonious in this one, and I guess that one aspect of the entire anime is unique. There have never been creatures with invivible hands before. But to say it is unlike anything else would to be giving it a little too much credit.

And the soundtrack, which wasn't only fully orchestral, but I found it magnificently fitting, emotional and well written.

He's allowed to say he didn't enjoy it, but the fact that professionals put alot of effort and money into it denies anyone from being able to call it "crap".

The reason he doesn't like it is simply because he didn't enjoy it, which is fair enough, but nobody is in the position to quote any opinion as fact, although he did compromise in the following post, so I don't see a reason to defend an argument which has finished.

And I dont care if professionals worked on it, that would mean that the anime should be better moreso. If professionals didnt make an outstanding anime, then thats even worse. I didnt like it either, but I agree it wasnt total crap. It was sugarcoated.

thats how i feel about it ..the show wasnt total crap but...then again the plot did kinda...suck cause the main character was in love with the murderer of his family..but everthing else was either ok or good

I enjoyed this anime. Actually one of my favourites to a certain extent. Some of the characters annoyed me though. (I hate female characters who always seems scared and cry all the time).

hmmmm...... ill say this much whoever said this anime doesnt evole to "second person" is so wrong so i take it normal human have invisble hands rofl!!!! but after watching a few episodes its definatly the first anime ive seen like this that wasnt some sick retarded hentai crap but id say its unique in its own way nothing amzing but its different and it does take some getting used to there was no "oh wait we just ripped a helpless girls head off isnt that going to far" or shouldnt we reconsider this no pretty much everyone was killed which is a first lol not to be wierd or anything but that aspect was refreshing in a tiny way not to be crazy or nothing but just in the sense that in most anime u can aspect for innocent people not to die a grewsome death and im not alone in thinking that dam i wish for once thed just smack da hell out of the girl or boy but it only works in this anime cause you get used to it so much that its nothing to show people dieing like fly buts i dont think id fly so well with animes like one piece or even bleach..=/ but all in all i felt this anime was ok id recomend watching it on ur freetime if ur into the whole gore stuff but id give this anime about a 7.5 out of 10 =D

This is a great Anime, the Story okey could be better. But the music and the art is very impressive. The title song is soo great.

Don't mean to bump a topic that is partially old, but this was a really good anime. The ending sucked, but it had a good storyboard. I had a nightmare that Lucy was going to kill me though. She's pretty hot when she's in that killer, anti-social, bloodlust mode though. Kouta, you lucky bastard.

Yeah, it ended too fast. And I don't really think there was a point in watching the OAV. I might check out the Manga instead, Animators have a knack to shorten Mangas and make them a little bit lamer.

My Opinion: Good episode, far different than what i am used to, but cool.

Aye it is. I was shocked when I saw the first episode yet happy because I like action and gore. I like the story is progresses, I think, nicely tho they could have extented it a few more episodes to explain more things.

My Opinion: Getting deeper into the plot...kouta and whatever the girls name is are starting to be suspicious of lucy...number 7 returns and mayu is confronted with that guy... Cool episode, but no blood >.>, except for the blood of the professor at the beginning. Some romance at the end too...blech

I found this anime to be pretty good, however too short for my liking. The graphics were great & the music was a great relief from the pop/rock normally found in opening themes. All in all, I would rate this anime an 8 out of 10 cause of the short life span.

One thing that puzzles me is I recently heard there was a manga to this anime & I think its work checking out. I heard there were at least 60 Chapters & I wanted to know whether this was true & to what extent do the characters develop from where the anime left off. Any suggestions?

well, here's my opinions of the important characters. Personally I found it was an interesting anime, splendid in fact, unrealistic sure, cool definitely.
In specific for each character as follows.

Kouta- Extremely tolerant, and nice person. I wouldn't say he's stupid or for that batter unrealistic, because believe it or not I've a friend who is just like him, dense, yet endlessly kind and tolerant with others who have come across misfortune. Loves to make friends. Tromatized by the shock of having his sister and father killed right in front of his eyes by his first love "Lucy". All in all, good character. 4/5

Yuuka- Kouta's cousin- she loves him and gets jealous very easily, kind, not so tolerant as Kouta. Sensitive. She seems just like any normal girl in love actually aside from that "do you want to suck my breasts" thing. 4/5

Mayu- She was sexually abused, taken in by Kouta, she's a kid, not much more to say, she acts like any normal child does, if anything that was a bit off, you'd think she'd be plenty less trusting of Kouta and Yuuka. 3/5

Lucy- the first Diclonius, bad childhood, nothing really to unusual, plenty people probably think how much she killed due to the problems she had was definitely unrealistic, I don't. In many cases people who are lonely for so long, have no friends, and generally hate life decide they don't want to just be "emo" and go off themselves, some decide, they want to take everyone down with them, some decide they want to change the world entirely, some just vent by killing when they go insane.
She had powers(as did nana and 35), what do you expect, at least it isn't DBZ or anything, it was on some level of reality, something like the Diclonius phenomena occuring is definitely far more likely than plenty of other crap. She kills everyone in her way, she's lived for so long to make tell Kouta she's sorry, and that she loved him basically. has a split personality, I find it interesting, and definitely a little risk on the author's part. 5/5

Nyu- she's Lucy's other personality Lucy houses, she's completely innoccent, almost like a baby you could say, doesn't know how to say much more than "nyu" she's quite fond of Kouta, not much else to her, but I'd say it's adorable to some level. 4/5

Nana(7)-she's also a diclonius like Lucy, she thinks she's Kurama's daughter, her personality is like Mayu's although plenty less trusting of Nyu, she has her reasons, it's natural, she's quite mature to some degree, but she's a diclonius, that's logical enough. 5/5

35-Kurama's real daughter, loves to kill, probably because she's been locked up for so long in that containment room, she probably hates the people keeping her there(which are humans) so of course she'd want to kill them all, she's been lonely, and been put through a bunch of crap, the strongest Diclonius.4/5 could have spent a little more time developing her charcter

Kurama-35's father, the guy who puts Lucy in the containment facility, he's infected by Lucy(because she wanted him to suffer, or rather see how she had to live through his daughter) so that he's able to have a Diclonius child with his wife, he was going to kill his only daughter, he chooses not to(seriously, he'd have to be really f-ed up to do that just because she had horns if he really loved his wife).3/5

Definitely could have done more work on some of the characters, but you can't really blame the author, it was a 13 episode anime.

Elfen Lied was great anime! but left me wandering at the end with person at the gate??
