I find this band is great. Their music is incredible, and not only that, it was inspired by Lord Of The Rings. ^^

Blind Guardian? I have heard and liked one of their songs, but I seem to have forgotten the name.

Wow, a Blind Guardian thread! I will give a brief summary of them since I know a whole bunch about em Blind Guardian is one of the credited founders of the European Power Metal scene along side other greats as Helloween, Gamma Ray and Running Wild (Pirate themed) however Blind Guardian is also known for thier LotR themed songs but they also have other songs not based on LotR and thier latest full length album had little refrences to LotR. Lead singer Hansi Kürsch also has a side project with Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth (supposedly BG's American counter-part) thier joint project is called Demons and Wizards.

Blind Guardian has been around longer than the Lord of the Rings movies have, dearest. ;3

And I friggin' adore them. I'm going to be singing "Battlefield" all day, now. "That's what the minstrel sing / Join in the horrible screams / Take part in murderous deeds..."

I know this band quite well but i'm not very enthusiastic about Blind Guardian.
For me, their music is quite simple and not professional. Yeah, that's it.

Are you kidding me? How can you consider any European Power Metal Bands "not proffesional"? They are one of the bands that define the genre and simple you say? What designates you the power to say whats simple and what isnt? I'd like to know what you listen to if you say that they are not complex

Well I used to listen to Blind Guardian for a short time. Not professional... mean for me the quality of music is not just how fast you can play your guitar... And lyrics. Theirs are about... nothing. That's what I think.

Well, first off your sentence structure is crap. Who says their lyrics are about nothing? If you read the posts before you you might have noticed that they are pretty much a themed band...

Satan, I do understand your passion towards a band you clearly like a lot, hehe, so it's only natural you stand up for them. However, the pass about sentence structure was rather uncalled for, and what he/she said about the quality of music "is not just how fast you can play your guitar" is rather true.
Though Ogashy, Satan has a point- if you had acknowledged the previous posts, you should have very well known that their lyrics are not about nothing, they are themed, and have meaning.

Okay, enough about that. Moving on.

So, what are your favorite songs by Blind Guardian? Out of the ones I have listened to so far, I'd have to say that my definate favorites are Nightfall, and The Dark Elf. =D

I just recently bought their album 'Nightfall in Middle-Earth'. I have to say that I am officially addicted. XP

Ahh, definatley some of their best work, especially the song "Nightfall" & "Thorn"
