I've seen the reports, and it seems he indeed died. Oh, this day is truly a tragedy for music. Poor MJ, he will be missed. You know, I never liked him too much but my mother used to have a lot of dvds of his live concerts, and there was something more than today's pop music. Damn.

Yeah, my first thread I've started without actually starting it =D
Back on topic, I would like to add that I'll miss the Jackson of the seventies and the eighties, but then I had been missing him for some time. I wont comment on the 90's and 00's. In some ways maybe this is a blessing in disguise, I can only think his "comeback" could have been a disaster. A sad life and a sad death. Actually, we don't know if he had cancer. I wouldn't assume that.
I'm very sorry that he died! I saw those words and went "WHAT! It's MICHEL JACKSON. HE CAN'T DIE." I'll miss him. His music shaped so many things. Rest in Peace. --------------------  |

I didn't post earlier was because I was crying. Even though I'm really young, Michael Jackson is like one of my idols. The one person that to me is like a super human or super hero. He'll never die and maybe that's why I cried that hard. Reality just attacked me and I wasn't expecting it.

I fear he will be remembered more his private life than his music sadly,wasnt a fan by any means but off the wall was simply one of the best disco albums ever,he just couldnt follow it up for me at least what followed was a pale imitation of that album.
I'm of an age that i can remember Elvis dying he was what 46 or so i was 11 at the time and his passing was felt around the world but in his case he'll be remembered for his music (personally i love his gospel stuff hated the rest) i feel though in the long term when the shock has died down Jackson will always be remembered as a bit odd. I agree with the other poster about these "comeback" shows they had all the ingredients for a disaster and the press would really have been after him. |

This really is a sad day for the world of music! He was THE best and there is no arguing that. I personally loved his music from the first time I heard it and never changed my opinion!
