There are a lot of manga and anime. that you can't find on a website that are very easy ot find on irc, but many people don't know how to use it. I thought i'd give an explanation of how to use 'bots' to get anime and manga. I will use #lurk for the tutorial but this basically covers any bot system. someday i might make an fserve tut too.

-First of all you need an mirc client. Get the basic one here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html
-install the program and choose a nickname. leave all other options on defalt for now.
-fill in info (don't have to use real name but real email.)

-under where it says "connect" on the left menu, click "servers" and on the dropdown menu, select the server which the channel is in, if your using #lurk (the channel used in this tut) select irchighway or if your using the anime-hq listed above, choose rizon. If you have a different site you wish to download from, the site should say which server to use. (ie #lurk @ irc.irchighway.net)

-Click "connect to server"
-A window will come up and text should come flying down the page.
-when a window pops up type (or paste) in '#lurk' or the channel name for other sites which you can find on the websites.

-now you are in the channel #lurk, this channel has some of the best manga bots.
-before we go any farther, we need to get /msg triggers. go to this site (or other sites you find)
-http://www.gotlurk.net/
-to get triggers from this site, first click search.

-type what you want to look for and press enter

-click the # next to the file you want to get

-press the copy button next to the trigger displayed (if using firefox or other not ie browser, you may have to right click and click copy as the buttons don't work)

-go back to irc in the channel and paste the trigger in typing line and press enter

-a box should come up asking if you want to accept the send click ok.

-the download should start.
NOTE: to enter the lurk channel you MUST have a registered nick. To register your nick, in the status window paste '/nickserv REGISTER password valid-email' and it will send you an email with your registration number.


irc vocab 101:
bot: robot server which uses irc to distribute files
trigger: line of text which tells the bot to send you a file

Btw I've tried getting manga from bots quite some time ago, it worked for a bit at first (if I remembered correctly), but later on I can't even get on the channel, it says I'm banned, and I don't even remember doing anything wrong. =/

Is there a version of mIRC that you don't need to pay for continued use?

ummm no. just delete the hkey for mirc and it will renew your trial version

ahhh... It says register but... u wait for a while and dat continue button comes bak on... so actually u don't have to pay anything for it... just like winzip... wen it get expires it just checks for for how many files u have extracted and wen its done checkin it will let u use itself... lolz.

Btw if possible I'd really love to know how to locate the hkeys for these trial versions. Not just mIRC, but other programs as well, like anti-viruses, compression programs and stuff. Help, anyone?

start menu -> run -> type/paste regedit.exe

when in the program:
my comp. -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software
find the program and delete that file

NOTE: doesn't work with all programs, u may loose some of your settings in the program.
