Well, not much seemed to happen in this episode... which actually leads me to a question...
I admit I don't read the manga, but I've heard a lot of people say that these new and upcoming episodes are just filler, and not apart of the real plot... If that's true, then why are they episodes in the first place? I'm kind of confused on that... have they had filler episodes before?
Anyway, I'd appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me on that.

Gotta admit I'm excited to see Yamato finally fight, hopefully he does better than he did against Sasuke.

Better than last episode and next episode should be better since there should be fight scenes. The ending that van22 was talking about was really weird, I hope they don't do that again.

I really liked this ep actually (which is surprising because I hated last week's). But now that these guys have sprung their trap, things are getting interesting. The guy Yamato's finding seems pretty hardcore, that should be a good fight. Fuen, from the 2 seconds we've seen of her so far, might be one of the hottest kunoichi in the entire series. And she looks pretty badass (always a plus).

I'm really looking forward to seeing Sai fight more.


Daelan00: you're right, this storyline was not included in the official manga by Kishi. Fillers have happened before, it was one of the most annoying things about the first Naruto series: there were about 50 filler episodes that finished off the first series. The reason they used fillers the first time is because the anime was catching up to the manga, and they needed time to slow the anime so the manga storyline could get ahead. I'm not sure why they're using fillers now, because the manga is far ahead. They're probably afraid of the anime getting too close to the manga later on, so they're adding a few filler eps after every arc instead of doing 20-30 filler eps all together. Hope that clears things up.

its about time they gave Yamato a real fight!

all i have to say is that i am excited big time they are going to finally get to some good fight scenes and we will finally get to see yamato and sai fight which i have been waiting for...i hope these are good fights....as long as i am entertained i don't care all that much that they are fillers....lol

I don't think they would be afraid of catching up to the manga. Because there's atleast 50 or more episodes worth of material to work with. Off the top of my head I can think of 4 major fights + some important stuff.

HOWEVER I think the main reason for this set of fillers is to give a certain character more air time before he... well... you know. Although they haven't shown much of him just yet. BUT as you can see, the story is based around him.

I thought it was a cool episode. About time we get to see TEAM KAKASHI in action!

The preview of the next episode was funny too, how Naruto was flabbergastered by the girls good looks.

Ash-kun: Good point, I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense. Please keep any spoilers hidden or out of this forum, though. I realize you didnt' say anything outright, but it's kind of clear what you're implying....let's try to keep any hints of manga information in the manga forum.

Hopefully these fillers won't last more than 2-3 more episodes. No filler arc should be more than 5 eps.

I agree with Dragon1984, even though these are just fillers who cares because we get to see more fighting and more details to the story then compare to the manga. And this was a good espisode especially knowing that the next episode there's going to be a lot of figthing. But I know there are some fillers that are just stupid and lame like 57 and 58 but like someone said those episodes to create the plot that leads to the climax. All we seem to want is more blood shed, more killing and more fighting, but its the storyline that makes it more interesting

Haha it was the only way I could phrase it... no matter what I did it would have given away hints.

Now I hate to say bad things... BUT, I really think that these fillers will definately last longer than another 3 episodes... try 5 atleast.

Thats what I thought too...I hated the filler episodes from last year, but this one is actually interesting and gives more background info on some important characters. That bald monk has the same symbol on his waist like Asuma's.
